Villa Margarita is quietly located on a hillside above Lakka. A very pretty modern house, it has airy rooms where light streams through a profusion of windows, and the accommodation is distributed over two floors. These are connected by an outside staircase, and each floor has its own separate facilities, making this a good choice for a large group of family or friends. There is a footpath to Lakka, which is 800 meters away - a walk of about ten minutes, though the villa can of course, be reached by car. Staying at Villa Margarita gives guests the chance to experience the charm of Paxos at its very best - surrounded by the peace of the old olive groves yet with easy enough access to the 'bright lights' of Lakka.
The villa is delightfully decorated, white predominates and enhances the sense of summer, lifting spirits jaded by European winters. The bedrooms are particularly pretty, lavishly curtained and comfortable with piled pillows, while the shower rooms are elegantly fitted with modern basins and accessories. Apart from the private swimming pool, there are any number of separate outdoor areas for a meal, a quiet read, or just a private moment in the fresh air. There is also a paved courtyard garden, so typical of Paxos.

Paxos / Lakka area
Lakka lies in the north of Paxos at the head of a long natural inlet of the most startling shade of turquoise - reminiscent of a Caribbean bay. It is a perfect harbour and is filled with a fascinating array of yachts in summer. The village itself is small and focused almost entirely on its harbour-front, with a selection of useful shops and several good restaurants and bars, including a very good Italian restaurant. The shores of the bay are fringed with beautiful natural beaches, shaded by trees, and it is possible to walk to other, more unfrequented, beaches on the other side of the headlands.

The lower level consists of a large lounge, a kitchen, a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, both with en suite shower rooms, while the upper level, which is reached by exterior stairs, has an open-plan kitchen/lounge, a double and a twin bedroom, each with en suite shower room. There is a balcony/patio on the upper level while the lower level opens on to a pleasant stone terrace.
The attractive lounge, comfortably furnished for sitting and indoor dining, opens on to a paved terrace that overlooks the olive groves. The modern kitchen opens off from the lounge and is beautifully equipped, with plenty of work-space and a large fridge/freezer, electric hobs and oven and a washing machine. The kitchen has a door opening to the pool and garden patios.
