Villa Lioniskari is very private property set in lovely gardens with secluded swimming pool and lovely sea views. The villa is very well maintained and kept superbly clean by its owners who live in nearby Gaios. The property has 3 bedrooms and can sleep 4-7 people.

Layout:

Main House: Lounge, kitchen. 2 bedrooms, family bathroom.
Apartment: Open plan kitchen/dining/bedroom. Bathroom.
Folding bed for 1 additional person can be placed in the upper lounge or in the studio.

Facilities

The front door opens into a large living room and kitchen. Doors open on to the shaded pool side terrace, with sea views. The kitchen has plenty of work space. A side door goes to a petty garden veranda and, via a small path, up to the BBQ area.

The master bedroom is a double. French doors open on to the front balcony with sea views. The second bedroom is a twin. Both bedrooms are air conditioned.

Below the main house is a separate open-plan air conditioned studio with kitchen, dining area, double bed and bathroom.

The totally private pool offers delightful sea views. There is plenty of space around the pool for sun beds and umbrellas.

The Ionian Islands region

Paxos is the smallest of the Ionian Islands, lying just 11 km from the southernmost tip of Corfu. Many visitors return year after year to Paxos to experience the intimacy of this peaceful haven, the genuine friendliness of the local Paxiots, and the captivating scenery. Paxos is covered in many olive groves intersected by dry-stone walls and paths, that often lead to a derelict villa or abandoned stone olive press! The gnarled and twisted olive trees, some of them hundreds of years old, shelter numerous species of wild flowers at their roots, while here and there, small vineyards flourish. This serene and unspoiled landscape is what makes a holiday to the island of Paxos truly memorable.

The Paxos / Gaios area

Gaios is the 'capital' of Paxos, the largest of the three main settlements and the only one that can be called a town, albeit a very small one. Its Venetian and British heritage is visible in the colourful buildings that line the long harbour-front. Gaios now has two harbours - the newer one is a short walk or drive from the centre, and serves as the port of call for ferries, excursion and cruise boats. It is also the setting for the often spectacular arrivals and departures of the Corfu-Paxos seaplane service. The older harbour, sheltered from the open sea by two small islands, is a never-ending source of entertainment in summer, with its plethora of cosmopolitan yachts. Gaios continues its daily business regardless of its exotic visitors, and it is this contrast that makes it so entertaining to spend an hour or more at one of the cafes in the main square alongside the quay. An intriguing variety of eating establishments, chic boutiques and old-fashioned stores make Gaios quite fascinating.

With no airport on Paxos, most visitors fly to the nearby island of Corfu and then transfer by hydrofoil, sea taxi or seaplane. It is an exciting start to your holiday! Charter flights to Corfu operate from most major European airports from May to October. There are also scheduled flights operating from Athens during the winter months.
Paxos Car Hire or Taxi Transfer: We can arrange a hire car to meet you at the port of Gaios or a taxi transfer to take you to the villa.
