About the home

Villa Kostas is one of those charming little Paxiot houses, compact in size but just right for two or four people. It opens on to paved terraces and a courtyard with beautiful stonework and well-tended citrus and olive trees.

Eating outdoors is always a special pleasure on holiday and Villa Kostas is well-equipped for this, with a large barbecue and outdoor kitchen.

Layout: Open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. One double bedroom with en suite shower room, one twin bedroom. Separate shower room.

The living room is open-plan with the kitchen and dining area. Modernly furnished but in keeping with local tradition.

The kitchen area is fully equipped with full oven and ceramic hob, fridge/freezer and microwave.

There are two bedrooms - one master double bedroom with en suite shower room, and a twin-bedded room. Both bedrooms have air conditioning and copious fitted wardrobes. There is one en suite shower room attached to the master double bedroom, and a separate shower room. Separate shower room for the twin room.

The Ionian Islands region

Paxos is the smallest of the Ionian Islands, lying just 11 km from the southernmost tip of Corfu. Many visitors return year after year to Paxos to experience the intimacy of this peaceful haven, the genuine friendliness of the local Paxiots, and the captivating scenery. Paxos is covered in many olive groves intersected by dry-stone walls and paths, that often lead to a derelict villa or abandoned stone olive press! The gnarled and twisted olive trees, some of them hundreds of years old, shelter numerous species of wild flowers at their roots, while here and there, small vineyards flourish. This serene and unspoiled landscape is what makes a holiday to the island of Paxos truly memorable.

The Paxos / Lakka area

Lakka lies in the north of Paxos at the head of a long natural inlet of the most startling shade of turquoise - reminiscent of a Caribbean bay. It is a perfect harbour and is filled with a fascinating array of yachts in summer. The village itself is small and focused almost entirely on its harbour-front, with a selection of useful shops and several good restaurants and bars, including a very good Italian restaurant. The shores of the bay are fringed with beautiful natural beaches, shaded by trees, and it is possible to walk to other, more unfrequented, beaches on the other side of the headlands.
