The East Thailand / Chon Buri Province region
The main sweep of the bay area is divided into two principal beachfronts. Pattaya Beach is parallel to city centre, and is the main destination for bathers and loungers with the section from Central Road (Pattaya Klang) south to the harbour forming part of the core of the town's restaurants, motorcycle hire, and night attractions. Jomtien Beach (Thai: หาดจอมเทียน) in the southern part of the bay area is divided from Pattaya beach by the promontory of Pratumnak Hill, just south of the city, and is mainly a residential area with luxury developments, beachside hotels, bungalow complexes, condominiums and restaurants. It offers of watersport activities such as jet skis, parasailing and small sail boat hire. Offshore islands include Mu Ko Larn (หมู่เกาะล้าน) , the "Near Islands", Ko Larn (main island), Ko Sak and Ko Krok located 7.5 km from the western shores of Pattaya Ko Larn (Thai: เกาะล้าน), or "Coral Island", Mu Ko Phai (หมู่เกาะไผ่), the "Far Islands", Ko Phai (main island), Ko Man Wichai, Ko Hu Chang and Ko Klung Badan, located offshore further west of the "Near Islands", and Ko Rin, located offshore to the southwest, south of Mu Ko Phai. Most of the islands in the group are accessible by speedboat in less than 15 minutes and by ferry taking about 45 minutes. The names "Near Islands", "Far Islands" and "Coral Island" are used for touristic purposes only and do not correspond to any naming conventions of the island groups and are not shown on maritime charts published by the Hydrographic Service of the Royal Thai Navy. Many of the islands have tourist beaches and offer scuba diving activities.
Pattaya enjoys a tropical wet and dry climate, divided into the following seasons: Warm and Dry (November to February), Hot and Humid (March to May), and Hot and Rainy (June to October). The most comfortable time of year coincides with the peak tourist season, which is on and around Christmas and New Year.

Ripley's Believe It or Not! TERROR IN PATTAYA New Ripley’s Haunted Adventure to open its doors .
Pattaya, Thailand - Visitors to the resort town will be scared stiff as the new Ripley’s Haunted Adventure opens for horror on Sunday, October 30th, 2004. Located on the 3rd level of the Royal Garden Plaza adjacent to Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum, this spook filled attraction is a replica of the original, 20th century warehouse of the Grimsby and Streaper Casket Company. This abandoned structure is the backdrop for one of the scariest mysteries of modern times, complete with disappearances, foul play, and periodic visits from the other side. For your terrified pleasure, the masters of oddity, Ripley Museum, have resurrected the haunted tale of these partners and their establishment.
“Visitors, both Thai and foreign, will get the scare of their lives when they visit Ripley’s Haunted Adventure in Pattaya “This ‘spooktacular’ attraction that horrified thousands around the world has been transformed into something never before seen in Thailand.”
Ripley’s Haunted Adventure is Pattaya’s newest haunted attraction featuring a dizzying array of amazing special effects, live actors and animatronics. Groups will venture into their worst nightmare through old, rusty warehouse doors, which were once an entrance of the dead, but they are left to find their own way out! Body bags, rats and evil surprises are encountered as our “guests” try to find their way to the Room of Total Darkness, where spirits and unseen ghosts lurk everywhere. However, BEWARE TO STRAGGLERS . . . who stray from their groups! Such careless visitors have been known to disappear into an old crypt and become a permanent part of the Ripley’s Haunted Adventure!
Located on the 3rd floor of Royal Garden Plaza Building in Central Pattaya. A fascinating assortment of weird but wonderful exhibits from all parts of the globe can now be found at Ripley's Believe It or Not! here.
They include genuinely puzzling facts, curios, illusions, etc. proving once again that fact is stranger than fiction. Also enjoy the hi-tech simulator ride in the moving theatre and hi-tech laser game.
Open : Daily 10.00- 23.00 hours

Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden
At Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden besides its fame as the biggest and the most beautiful botanical garden in Southeast Asia, you will experience various kinds of fascinating and impressive Thai cultural and traditional dance shows. Elephant Show and Mini Zoo are also provided.
History :
In 1954 Mr.Pisit and Mrs. Nongnooch Tansacha bought 1500 rais (approximately 600 acres) of rolling hills and valleys at kilometer marker 163 on Sukhumvit road in Chonburi province. The newly purchased land was anticipated to become a fruit plantation filled with mangoes, oranges, coconuts as well as many other local fruits. But as fate may have it, Mrs. Nongnooch during her trip abroad, was inspired by the beauty of the world-renowned gardens and decided to turn the fruit orchard into a tropical garden of ornamental flowers and plants. At first meant for botanical conservation, the garden was later turned into a tourist attraction fully equipped with Thai style houses, cottages, villas, seminar halls, banquet halls, swimming pool, restaurants as well as other facilities constructed for tourist‘s convenience.
Opened to the public in 1980, the garden was named “ Suan Nong Nooch ” in honor of Mrs. Nongnooch, as the word “Suan” means garden. In addition to continuing on her life‘s work of the garden, Mrs. Noongnooch spends her time between Bangkok and the orchard in Chieng-rai as well as Nong Nooch camping resort in Prachinburi province, which made its debut in 2001. In order to maintain the gardens, management was than handed over to her son, Mr. Kampon Tansacha.
Presently, Nong Nooch Tropical Garden & Resort is well known to those who want to take in an impressive Thai Cultural Show and find the biggest and most beautiful botanical garden in Southeast Asia. More than 2,000 visitors from around the world visit our garden daily for their enjoyment. At Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, we‘re always developing and improving the beautification process in order for the garden to look as it does today. Nong Nooch garden is also dedicated to education, preservation, research as well as the conservation of its vast palm collection and other tropical plants.
