The accommodation is situated in the village of Hinvong Country View, which is found directly off the Sukhamvit Road (the main road leading from Bangkok through to Cambodia), and is only a 2 minutes walk to traditional Thai bars and restaurants, and a few minutes stroll to mile upon mile of charming secluded beaches.
The bustling town of Pattaya is only 15 minutes away, a shopaholics paradise with exceptional bargains - come with an empty suitcase! Why not take a one mile leisurely walk to the charming fishing village of Bang Sare which is a centre for deep sea sport fishing and renowned for it’s fine seafood restaurants set on their own piers all serving excellent, inexpensive food.
For the golfing enthusiast there are over 28 courses, many of them of world class standard and within less than an hour's drive, the nearest being The Phoenix Golf and Country Club that is within a 5 minute drive. The East Thailand / Chon Buri Province region
Growing from what used to be a quiet fishing town, Pattaya is now the most popular coastal resort in South-East Asia hosting over 300 hotels from budget to first class luxury and some of the finest seafood restaurants around. In addition, you can find huge numbers of markets and shopping malls that inundate the city!
Pattaya night-life is now legendary, but it doesn’t just offer neon-lit go-go bars for the party goers as there are also many trendy restaurants and piano bars that line the beach road. However, as Pattaya is the capital of cabaret shows, don’t forget to visit the legendary and colourful show at Alcazar.
What to do there: Pattaya Festival – every year in April at the height of the same season, Pattaya puts on food and floral floats, beauty contests, stalls selling local delicacies and a spectacular display of fireworks on the beach.
Pattaya / Jomtien Beach area
Apart from the beautiful, safe and secluded beach at the end of the road there are other magnificent beaches within a couple of miles at Ban Amphoe where there is a fantastic array of local fish restaurants and where your dining table is literally on the beach - Why not treat yourself to a sunset dinner?
Again within walking distance at Bang Sare there is the 'Boat Bar' which is run by local Thai's where you can enjoy not only superb local delicacies but also have a traditional Thai massage.
Prices in Thailand are usually a third less than in England and Europe, so take the opportunity of enjoying locally based activities such as: golf, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, yacht charter, gun range shooting, paragliding, windsurfing, ballooning, bungee jumping, elephant rides, island hopping or even arrange a light aircraft trip and fly over Pattaya and the surrounding countryside.
How to get there
Once you have arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport (unless previously arranged through ourselves) take a taxi from the rank and initially ask to be taken to Pattaya (best known landmark 'Tesco Lotus' superstore on Sukhamvit Road).
As you approach Tesco Lotus further direct driver to Jomtien, then onto Ban Amphur (this will be sign posted and the rest of the journey will be staying on the Sukhamvit Road).
On the left hand side of the road you will see a sign for the Austrian Thai School at this point tell the driver to take the next turning on the right. The villa is sited on the left hand side of the road after approximately 600 metres literally next to the swimming pool.

Guestbook for Baan Hinvong
Dear Peter
I am dropping you a quick line just to say how much we enjoyed our holiday at your house. As you know I had just had a hip replacement operation and vacation was part of my recuperation process along with a well earned break with my family. Having the bedroom on the ground floor with the shower room next door made matters so easy. The house has a friendly feel and we spent most of our time by the pool and at the local beach dropping into San’s bar for our evening constitutional!! We hope to come over again next year and will recommend the house to both friends and relatives.
Regards
Pat Nolan
