VN Residence 2
Condo | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
This spacious, modern and airy 147 sqm condominium lies in the prime residential district of Pattaya known as Pratumnak. Central Pattaya is just to the north and the beach resort of Jomtien is an equal distance to the south. The quiet sandy beach of Dongtan with its plentiful supply of sun loungers and shade trees is a few minutes walk away.
The condominium, which looks directly over the pool, is situated on the third floor of this luxurious low rise condominium block built by a major European Property Group which was completed about 2 years ago. Fully air-conditioned, it enjoys a very spacious lounge with 50" TV, cable service with several foreign language, sports and film channels and internet connections. Other facilities include dining area, fully equipped kitchen with electric hob, microwave, coffee percolator etc, spacious en-suite master bedroom with king size bed, second bedroom with twin beds and second bathroom. There is also a spacious balcony for al-fresco dining. The furniture and soft furnishings in the condo are all brand new. High quality "Sleepezee" beds ensure a comfortable night's sleep. Residents enjoy all on-site facilities which include swimming pool, pleasant garden, gym, on-site restaurant serving cocktails and both Thai and western dishes and a convenience shop. Several other restaurants are within walking distance and 'songthaews' (those ubiquitous Pattaya taxis) can be caught at the top of the road and will drop you either in central Pattaya or Jomtien for the cost of small change. Pattaya's Water Park with several huge slides and adjacent fairground rides is also very close.

The East Thailand region
Pattaya lies on the eastern seaboard of the Gulf of Thailand. Boats go from Pattaya's Bali Hai pier to Ko Larn but if you want to go further afield then Ko Samet with its beautiful white sand beaches makes a nice day trip or stay a night or two in one of the many beach-side bungalows. There is a Tiger Zoo at Si Racha and if zip lining high up through the jungle canopy is your 'thing' then check out "Flight of the Gibbon". This is quite an amazing and truely different day out. Ko Samui and Phuket are an hour's flight away from Pattaya's local U-Tapao airport. Bangkok, of course, is also near enough for a day trip or for an overnight stay or two. Fly to Chiang Mai (the Rose of the North) in 1 hour from Bangkok or (much more fun, ridiculously cheap and surprisingly comfortable) catch an overnight sleeper train.
Pattaya is Thailand's premier tourist destination. Hardly surprising when one considers that it's a mere 80-90 minutes from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) airport, has a year round tropical climate and every possible attraction the tourist could ever want. From shopping malls to street markets, restaurants to suit every conceivable taste and exquisitely beautiful off-shore islands where the white sand really does squeak beneath your toes. The city centre, which is a pedestrian precinct at night time known as Walking Street, really comes alive after dark. Sit and have a drink in the warm evening air and watch the world go by or walk with the crowds. Both you and your children will love the street artists and dancers. Or if you're hungry enjoy exquisite Thai cuisine in several of the sea food restaurants that are built out over the sea. Catch the warm evening breeze and enjoy a wonderful view over Pattaya bay.
For shopping try Central Festival, Pattaya's newest international shopping mall, spread out over six floors, or bargain with the street traders along Beach Road. Jomtien, just to the south of central Pattaya is a 3km stretch of sand with endless deckchair concessions under close knit umbrellas. Enjoy massage on the sand or buy freshly grilled prawns for lunch from passing vendors who will barbecue them at your table.
