The studio is just 2 years old. Mostly solid wood, Thai style furniture, luxury porcelain bathroom, airconditioning, balcony with ocean views, built in kitchen with black granite worktop. 200m from two pretty beaches. A good selection of bars and restaurants within walking distance and Pattaya centre around 2 miles away. Lovely communal pool with bridge to central jacuzzi feature, residents gym, coffee shop, convenience store and wine shop all form part of the development.

The Central Thailand region

Thailand is an amazing country with a warm climate year-round. High season is considered to be November - March but even in the rainy season (June - September) expect lovely sunny mornings before the clouds bubble up. Fabulous fresh Thai cuisine with an emphasis on seafood but European food is always available. There are plenty of delightful islands to explore, fishing trips, diving, golf and elephant treks. Stock up on Thai silk, traditional wooden gifts and replica watches. Shop western style at modern shopping plazas, or enjoy haggling at the night market in true Thai fashion and unbelievably low prices. Thailand is called 'The Land of Smiles' - and rightly so.

Pattaya area

The Thais love festivals and fairs and the calendar is full of colourful pageants, carnivals and excuses to celebrate. My personal favourite is Songkran (Thai New Year) in April - expect to get a thorough soaking! There's plenty to do in Pattaya - shopping, boat trips, watersports as well as a hugely varied nightlife including cabaret, nightclubs, theme pubs and dining cruises. There's an excellent aquariam, go karts, bowling, elephant farms and a handful of world class golf courses within an easy drive.

How to get there

Less than 2 hours from the newly opened Bangkok airport. Taxis are very cheap - expect to pay around £16 for the trip, agree the price beforehand. Or I can arrange your collection with a local taxi firm. Air-con buses also available from the airport to Pattaya. But if you want to arrange car hire for your visit, it makes sense to pick the car up on arrival at the airport. My favourite car hire price-checker is travelsupermarket.com

This really is five-star luxury at a two star price. Tastefully furnished in traditional style, the apartment is on the 4th floor (lift access) and enjoys sea breezes and sunset views.

This newly opened condominium residence is in a relatively quiet yet upmarket area close to a handful of prestigious hotels. There is lovely pool with cascade, water features and jacuzzi. Parking is available at the rear of the property and there are shops on the ground floor.There is a management office with friendly staff to help with any queries.

Cable TV is installed with a choice of programmes in different languages. A selection of DVDs has been provided, others may be purchased locally at very cheap prices.

Back home now. Just want to say thanks once again, we had a great time , the
Apartment was beautiful and in a very quiet location which suited us. Never quite
made Walking street but we did risk the motorbike taxi on a number of
occasions. Our highlight was when a small pickup truck passed us on the road
(between bike taxi and Arts cafe ) with a huge elephant on the back. We just
stood with our jaws hanging open. Where else would you see a sight like
that?
