"Attentive owners to some problems not the best of self catering kitchens"

Gill and David responded quickly to a couple of problems with dozy wasps from a treated nest above the dining room, and leaks from a blocked gutter (potentially dangerous as it poured over the dining … More

"Well located quiet and clean base for a visit to Yorkshire"

The cottage has all the amenities needed ( apart from wifi) but it's in such a good location that we didn't miss it. The dining room space just a little tight but confortable. Everything else was very good, clean and felt like at home.

"Lovely cottage in a great location"

We had a fantastic week staying at this well equipped cottage in the dales. I stayed there with my husband, two boys (9 & 13) and parents. The cottage states that it accommodates 6 people and the owners were honest in their feedback that with both single beds in the 3rd bedroom there's little room to walk around. It didn't both our boys, they had great fun sharing a room and still found room to play with their lego! It's good to note that although the additional single bed (to accommodate 6) is a truckle bed, it's still a really good quality bed with a good mattress and not a cheap 'z-bed'. In fact, the beds are fantastic, soooo comfortable and the bed linen is lovely! Everything in the cottage is of a great quality and high standard. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. The dining area is quite narrow but we managed even with 6 of us and enjoyed lots of lovely meals around the table. The only negative comment for the cottage was the garden. We knew before we arrived that it was a courtyard type garden (no grass for the boys to play on!) but unfortunately it was very overgrown and we couldn't all sit around the table or admire the views from the bottom of the garden. We therefore couldn't use the garden as much as we would have liked. However, I left this comment in the visitors book and the owners responded the day we left to apologise (advising down to such good weather) and although a little late for us were fixing the problem. Note: the main bathroom is downstairs with just an ensuite off the main bedroom upstairs - this didn't cause us any problems.

The cottage is located only 5 min walk from the centre of Pately Bridge but note this is up hill!! A lovely walk past the sheep into the town were there's a lovely park, playing field, walks along the river and of course the famous sweet shop! There's lots to do in the area and the owners have left numerous leaflets in the cottage, along with books and games for those rainy afternoons - my son's loved playing Cluedo each night! Although there isn't a garden for them to play in there was a small play area in Bewerley which was just a very very short walk.

If you'd like to stay in a lovely area of Yorkshire, in clean, comfortable, well presented, high quality self catering accommodation, then you can't go wrong with this cottage. We'd definitely like to visit again.

The owners recommended you take a photograph of the cottage with you to more easily find it and this was really helpful.
