The Prieure Ste Therese lies in a small village location in the Deux-Sevres department of the Poitou Charente region. It is about 70 km inland from La Rochelle.
La Prieure Ste Therese is a stunning 14th century Priory, next to a pretty church, offering the highest standards of luxury. It has 6 bedrooms, 5 bath/shower rooms and comfortably sleeps up to 12 guests.
This is a very quiet area where the slow pace of life & air quality will really help you relax during your week away. It is also worth pointing out that the region is the second most sunny in France!

Le Grand Park de puy Du Fou: (60 minutes drive time) The musketeers of Richelieu show, gladiators show- live, the breath taking games of the roman circus, the Vikings show set in the year 1000, ferocious Nordic warriors invade a peaceful village, the falcon birds show and the medieval City; a French medieval town, set in 1900; the Cinéscène - 7million visitors have experienced the live extravaganza performed on the largest stage in the world. 1,100 actors, amazing technical effects, and the sheer scale of this show make a truly memorable experience for everyone
Le Marais Poitevin: Green Venice. (45 minutes drive time) Green Venice of France stretching from the city of Niort to the coast, the Marais Poitevin offers a multitude of varied landscapes united by thousands of canals. Dikes and dams control this vast territory, from the water meadows, to the drained marshlands. This is an area of unspoiled, natural beauty.
The Aquarium: (La Rochelle, 90 minutes drive time) Open 365 days a year. Dream, understand and learn about the sea. A 2 hour journey into the depths of the sea. 10,000 Atlantic, Mediterranean and Tropical species in 3 million liter’s of water, 65 aquariums open like a window into the ocean world. The largest shark aquarium displays 20 species in 1.5 million litres of sea water. A 360° tunnel allows you to walk on water, surrounded by jellyfish. A must for everyone!
Chateau de Talment: (60 minutes drive time) 1000 years of history. Discover Richard the lion hearts fortress. Your children, accompanied by “crafty Robin” will be able to discover the site whilst playing with the kings ransom.
Chateaux of the Loire: These numerous historical and beautiful castles can easily be visited- with Saumur’s chateau located just 45 minutes away. This is a rare example of the 14th century architecture and it marks the end of the middle ages and the beginning of the renaissance. It offers a wide variety of medieval events over the summer. The chateaux of Chenonceau, Chambord, Montreuil-Bellay, Ambois, Villandry and Usseé are all within drivable distance.
Further details indoors: The Prieure Ste Therese has been immaculately restored and renovated both inside and out. It is filled with antiques and objets d’art and is an absolute gem amongst treasures. With its original stone-work it stands in splendour, privately enclosed in it’s own grounds. A full laundry and catering service can be provided on request.
There is a heated green mosaic swimming pool with Jacuzzi, Roman steps and a 'swim-against-current' system. The walled and tree lined gardens flourish with their vines, fruit trees and beautifully maintained lawns and flower beds.
The Prieure Ste Therese is owned by British restaurateurs (who live in a separate building on site) meaning it is possible to have your own resident chef. Every other service you could wish for can be catered for.
First Floor - 4 double bedrooms (2 with en-suite bathrooms).
Second Floor - Games room. - 2 double bedrooms (1 en-suite). - 2 bath/shower rooms.
Outbuildings - 2 garages. - Carport with ping-pong & baby-foot.

- Security deposit: €650 or £500. This is paid 2 weeks prior to arrival by cheque or bank transfer and will be refunded in full 2 weeks after departure subject to damage inspection. - Linen & towels: All linen and bath towels are included in the rental price. - Energy costs: If you wish to heat the pool the cost will be deducted from your security deposit. - End of stay cleaning: €120. - Arrival time: 4pm onwards. - Departure time: 10am. - Pets: No pets allowed. - Smoking: No smoking in the property.
