La Metairie is situated in the beautiful yet relatively undiscovered Deux Sevres.This 16th century farmhouse is situated on the edge of a quiet hamlet, in its own grounds, which include a large private swimming pool, and a secure pond with free-range ducks and chickens. Table Tennis, Badminton set and Wifi, also available.
The property has been tastefully renovated to provide spacious and comfortable accommodation, whilst retaining original beams and stone walls. Ideal for a complete "break from it all", or as a base for touring the many delights of this region. Many activities nearby, including golf, fishing, horse-riding, karting and canoeing. Within easy reach of Poitiers and Futuroscope, the Marais Poitevin (Green Venice), the Puy du Fou, the Loire Valley, La Rochelle and the Atlantic Coast, the beautiful Ile de Re and other islands, Cognac and much, much more.

All the grounds are accessible and the garden furniture can be moved to wherever you would like it.
The large pool (30ft x 15ft) is shared by both gites.
There is a decked terrace area alongside the pool, equipped with sun loungers, where you can relax, offering open views across the valley.

The climate of the Charentes is one of the mildest in France, and the coastal area of this region is the sunniest part of France outside the Mediterranean coastal areas. Our property is centrally located to the Loire Valley, La Rochelle, Cognac, Green Venice, Puy du Fou. The area is famous for is medieval history and the property you will be staying in is on the historic, pilgrim route of Santiago de Compostela
The Parthenay area
A medieval town of architectural, artistic and historic interest, Parthenay was a major stopover on the road used by pilgrims making the trip to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. Parthenay plays host to many festivals through the year, including the international festival of games, and world of music festival.
