About this location
The Andalucia region
Andalucia has a wide appeal to all age groups.
The village of Partaloa nestles amongst the hills and mountains around 20 miles inland, providing peace and quiet to the everyday hustle and bustle. Scenery is dramatic and spectacular, with mountain ranges visible in all directions - but still only 40 minutes drive to the busy seaside resorts of Garrucha, Mojacar and San Juan. Further afield but within 2 hours drive is the fantastic walled city of Granada where you can spend a full day browsing around the designer shops, the famous Alhambra palace or take to the mountains and indulge in skiing activities from November through to May.
Alternatively why not spend a day at the spaghetti western film set and enjoy a cool drink in the saloon bar, here you will also find a zoo to keep children occupied and happy. There is also a large waterpark at Vera Playa, never crowded even during the summer holiday period.
For the avid golfer, we have several championship golf courses, all within 30 minutes drive and set in dramatic and varied scenery. Desert Springs being the only championship desert golf course in Europe.
There is much history in the area - if you can find time a visit to the various castles (Lorca, Alicante and Almeria) are well worth it.
The nearby town of Albox provides all that you will need for a holiday, or longer term stay. Restaurants of all nationalities can be found here, together with shops, churches,a tenpin bowling alley and a medical centre.
The town hosts an annual festival during the summer months, and a large market is held in the rambla twice weekly. Many other local village festivals can be visited during the summer months.
No visit would be complete without a trip into the nearby Saliento mountains to see the monastry and its spectacular views, or to the Calar Alto observatory, nestled high in the Sierra de Los Filabres.
On our doorstep we have a local horse riding centre, quad biking and spectacular walks into the nearby hills for solitude. A 10 minute walk will take you into our village, where you can mix with the locals and enjoy a totally relaxing meal / drink.
General prices are around 30% cheaper than the coastal resorts and a 3 course meal will cost somewhere between 10 - 15 euros.A bottle of local wine costs around 2 euros. We can of course recommend several local restaurants.
We are blessed with over 320 days sunshine each year, summer temperatures will range from 20 - 35 degrees, depending on when you choose to stay.
Note: we have chosen not to have wi-fi in the villa to ensure you have a completely relaxing break - but wi-fi is freely available locally in many bars, restaurants and internet cafe's.
If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday with stunning scenery, but with coastal resorts and shopping not too far away....... then look no further. We can assure you that you won't be disappointed.

"Great home for those with kids - just a bit too remote for my personal liking."
Got to the villa at the wrong time - almost 10pm - so went up the steeeeeepest hill ever instead of driving left to the correct hill. Car almost rolled back into ditch, kids were screaming and I was t… More
Many thanks for your comments, it is much appreciated.
The driving instructions we send out with the address details does indicate that you should take the rambla turning on the left in 300 yards after turning off the main road, rather than take this steep approach - however I appreciate that in the dark this may be a little confusing. I will update the info to make it a little clearer.
I am pleased that you enjoyed the pool area and that it provided some enjoyment and relaxation. We do advertise the villa as a place of peace and tranquility, and we have chosen not to have wifi installed so that there is no tempation to check emails everyday - although as advertised, free wifi is readily available locally in many bars, cafes and restaurants.
The area provides a taste of "true" Spain and I am sorry you found the location a bit too remote, but we do believe the website description is a very fair and true description of what is available and on offer.
Thanks once again for your valued feedback,

"Lovely Villa and pool in nice quiet area"
Stayed in July for nearly 2 weeks with wife and 10 and 11 year old.
lovely villa, spacious and extremely well looked after - pool perfect for the kids. Owners a delight to deal with, offered advice about the area and what to visit and were extremely efficient which made things very hassle free.
We were intending to eat out a lot, but the village choice a short stroll away wasnt very inspiring, and so we made great use of the supermarket in albox with v cheap faustino, great white rioja and a fabulous fish counter, so spent time in the plenty spacious kitchen and on the barbeque, concocting delicacies and spending time eating outside at the villa.
weather was fantastic
Beach is driveable if you want, and we went to the aquapark which was surprisingly good for a day out and not that crowded although we were not in the main school holidays
I would take a couple of spare towels and buy a v cheap tablecloth for the outside table (sorry spilt candlewax on the one we bought so threw away)
other than that, this villa is perfect for a getaway and relax, but with enough in driving distance to keep kids occupied when they get bored of books and the good selection of games left in the living room
