Beautifully renovated 2 bedroom house in the village of Kostos on the island of Paros. Kostos village in which the house is situated is a very quiet traditional Greek village and would suit those looking for a peaceful holiday. However, the bustling seaside towns of Naousa and Paroikia are less than a 10 minute drive away where you will find a huge range of tavernas, shops, clubs, bars, banks and post offices. Lefkes village, one of the most stunning villages in the Cyclades is just 3km away where an evening stroll through the village is a must and where many walks begin, including the famous Byzantine walk which will take you to Marpissa.

Stunning beaches and beautiful walks are all just a short drive away from Kostos village and you will not have far to go to find a perfect spot for sunbathing, swimming and water sports.

Paros itself is centrally located within the Cyclades island making it an ideal spot to 'island hop' . Naxos and Mykonos are very close by and Santorini is only 2 hours away. Paros is easily accessed from Athens via the Blue Star Ferries, High Speed Ferries and Olympic Airways. Athens airport is serviced by cheap flights via Easy Jet. Also, during the high season you can get flights direct to Mykonos or Santorini and a ferry from there.

Paros / Kostos Village area

The house is situated in the heart of the beautiful village of Kostos. Kostos is an impressive island village with narrow alleyways, a lovely square and beautiful green pines and has amazing panoramic views of the island and sea. The village has a children's play area opposite the local taverna and also has a coffee shop, village shop and a medical clinic.

Kostos village is on the main bus route around the island and will take you to all the main towns on Paros.

Paros is one of the largest islands of the Cyclades with approx. 120 km coastline, situated about halfway between Athens and Santorini. In ancient history Paros was famous for its semi-transparent marble, which is still quarried today. Paroikia, the capital, is one of the main harbors of the Cyclades with frequent connections to almost all other islands. The island lies within approx. 2,5 hours (with a high-speed boat) or 4 hours (normal ferry) distance from Piraeus port in Athens.

Paros Island has a lot to offer its visitors! Whether you prefer a quiet, peaceful holiday enjoying the beautiful nature and traditional Greek atmosphere, an active or educational one, or you would just like to party, you'll definitely find what you are looking for! The infrastructure is very good, the main road around the island being about 72 km long and well sign-posted, which makes it ideal to go discovering the island by yourselves!
Paros has many beautiful sandy beaches for all tastes. Some are hidden, tiny little bays, enclosed by extraordinarily "sculptured" rocks ("Kolimbithres"), others are long and wide. The typical countryside with its gentle, terraced hills and magnificent rock formations, endless vineyards, olive groves and fruit trees is overwhelming. In the spring, the island is completely green, with flowers growing everywhere!

How to get there

Easy Jet offer budget flights to Athens and you can book online at www.easyjet.com. It is an hour taxi, bus or metro ride to the port of Piraeus where you can pick up a Blue Star Ferry (4 hours) or a High Speed ferry (2.5 hours) to the Island of Paros. Tickets can be booked at www.bluestarferries.com and be picked up from the office at the Port.

There are also 3 flights a day from Athens to Paros Airport which take just 30 minutes. Olympic airlines is the only airline offering this service. www.olympicairlines.com

Once in Paros it is about 10 minutes by car to the village of Kostos where the house is situated. We can arrange your car hire to ensure that your car is waiting for you when you disembark. There are also buses that can take you to a stop one minute away from the house itself. Full directions to the house can be given on each enquiry. Alternatively, you can fly direct to the island of Santorini and the ferry will take about two hours to Paros or to the Island of Mykonos where the ferry to Paros takes just 45 minutes.

"Spiti Margarita" (Daisy House) is a 2 bedroom ground floor house, however, the village of Kostos is built on a hill overlooking the sea and therefore, the back of the house is actually on the first floor with a small balcony. This small balcony is the only outside space. We do not have a terrace or garden. Margarita house has been recently renovated and decorated to a modern standard with a brand new kitchen, bathroom and furniture to ensure that you will not be disappointed with your stay.

As you enter Margarita House you are met by 3 steps which take you into the house. A twin bedroom is on your left and straight ahead you will find a modern, fully equipped kitchen. Continue through into the dining and lounge area which includes dining table and seating for 4 along with a tv sofa area for 2. From the lounge you enter the brand new bathroom with toilet, basin and shower area. Finally, at the back of the house you will find the master double bedroom with small balcony.

We also have a smaller house (Poppy House or Spiti Paparouna) which is a studio sleeping 3 people (1 double bedroom and sofa bed in the living area). Ideal for a couple or a couple with a child). Poppy House is situated directly underneath Margarita House and has a bathroom, kitchen/living area, washing machine, T.V., DVD, kettle, toaster etc. and is fully renovated and decorated in a similar style to Margarita House. Photographs and more details are available so please ask. Price per week is Euro 285.00 in high season.
