Home description

Milos is a spacious, newly built three bedroom villa, on the south west of the sunshine island of Paros, with a spectacular elevated view facing west. On a clear day you can see over ten islands and the house, approximately one mile from the coast, is within easy reach of superb beaches (many quiet ones - even in high season) as well as local amenities, tavernas and shops.

The house is situated one kilometre from the small port of Alyki, 15 minutes drive from the main town / port of Parikia and literally three minutes drive from the island’s airport (only three flights a day - all small aircraft to/from Athens). It is situated up on a hill with spectacular 180 degree views looking west across the water to Antiparos and (on the clearest of days) ten other Cycladic islands, from Sikinos to the south to Syros in the north.

‘Milos’ consists of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a spacious open plan living room with an open fire, adjoining fully equipped kitchen, and a large west-facing terrace and garden. We have no immediate neighbours, the nearest house is around 150 metres down the hill. In the house, you will find fridge freezer, electric cooker, washing machine, long dining table for six, two sofas, loudspeakers (bring your own ipod, portable CD or computer) outside picnic table and benches, barbecue.

You will find ample bedding and towels for your stay. Normally, the house is serviced and cleaned weekly but a more frequent service can be requested if required. A housekeeper lives nearby should anything crop up during your stay that needs attending to.

Milos has a spacious sun terrace from which to enjoy some of the most spectacular sunsets you are ever likely to witness....and given that the Cyclades have almost uninterrupted sunshine from Easter right through til late autumn, that is quite a few potential sunsets. And, as they say, no two are ever alike....

The Aegean Islands region

Paros is one of the easiest Greek islands to get to, located in the heart of the Cyclades and its neighbouring islands are Naxos, Mykonos, Antiparos, Ios, Sifnos, Serifos, Sikinos, Folegandros and Syros. Climate is warm and sunny from Easter right through to late autumn, typically between 20 and 30 degrees, with the sea at its warmest between July and October.

Paros area

Paros island has a population of around 12, 000 and is easily traversed - around ten miles from north to south and similar from west to east. A coast road runs close to its perimeter and one can drive right around the island in two to three hours.

Paros has exquisite sandy beaches in crystal waters, traditional villages with whitewashed cubic houses in narrow paved alleys contrasted with the many bougainvilleas, lovely chapels, an exciting nightlife, especially in Naousssa and Paroikia…

Our website has personal recommendations for best places to eat, drink and swim.

Sailing, fishing, diving, watersports are also popular.

It is also a great base from which to explore other islands - Paros is the best connected island in the Cyclades and regular boats and excursions go to Antiparos, Santorini, Mykonos, Naxos and the small Cyclades, and the more remote islands such as Folegandros, Sifnos and Serifos can be easily reached.

How to get there

From UK, Fly Easyjet, British Airways or Olympic to Athens, then a choice of
a) seaplane from Lavrio to Paros
b) Olympic Dash 8 flight from Athens airport to Paros (30 mins), or
c) ferries from Piraeus (the main port n Athens) or the smaller, more rustic Rafina direct to Paros (around 4 hours)

British Airways also fly to Mykonos until the end of October, which has a direct daily seaplane link to Paros.
http://www.airsealines.com/ as well as regular boats (2 hours)

There are other charter flights to Mykonos and Santorini worth checking out during summer months.

Guestbook

"We had a fabulous time in Paros, great to stay at your lovely house, beautiful views, lots of privacy and great sounds!" Fiona

"Andrea, I, and our three youngest children, Joe (8), Noah (5), and Scarlett (3) have just returned from Milos, having spent a magical week there at the beginning of June." Rob

"Light and air floods the house during the day. Our children ran in and out of the garden, along walls and pathways with a freedom they never experience in central London. Milos is not isolated but the elevated position creates a feeling of absolute privacy." Rob
