The Aegean Islands region

Paros is one of the most famous islands of the Cyclades. Full of sandy beaches, typical towns and very good tavernas and restaurants.

Parikia is one of the beautiful towns of the Cyclades islands, full of typical tavernas, café, shops and local activities.

Better known as the fisherman island, this town has a lot of very good fish tavernas and in the morning, there is the possibility of buying fresh fish directly from the fishermans, at the port (200 meters from the house).

Despite the growing tourism in the Cyclades islands, Parikia still maintains a typical Greek aspect. There are a lot of Greek people living here the whole year, and not just in summer like in most Cyclades cities.

Paros

The house is located in the centre of Parikia, in the old part, in a quiet but very central and nice small street.

Everything is close: the supermarket, the market, the tavernas and bar.

The beaches are easy to access from the house.

50 meters from the house there is the beach of Livadia, 100 meters from the house there is a stop of a small boat for the beaches of Marcello and Krios. The boat works every 30 minutes. And there is also a small boat for the island of Antiparos.

200 meters from the house there is the beach of Livadia.

* Parikia

The beach of Parikia is a sandy small beach, free, with permanent umbrellas. It's a nice place to relax. Tavernas and gyros available.

* Livadia

The beach of Livadia is a long wide stretch of white sand located in the north of Parikia, at a 10 min. walk from the house. Here there are sun beds, umbrellas, restaurants and beach bars. Our favourite place is Tango Mar: sun beds and umbrellas are free, the drinks are good and you pay 6 euro for a cocktail under the umbrella. There are tables also to eat.

* Krios

The beach of Krios is a small sandy beach further north the beach of Livadia, on the other side of the bay. The beach is equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas, and a good beach bar / restaurant. If you have a car, you can reah this beach following the Krios camping signs and then turning left just before the entrance to the camping. If you don't have a car or a bike, this beach is accessible by a small ferry from Parikia's port (1st stop: the price is euro 4 for a return ticket.), or around a 30 minute cliff-top walk from Parikia.

* Marcello

The beach of Marcello is the finest beach of Parikia, a long wide expanse of golden sand with crystal water. This is a perfect beach for children as the sea is very shallow for 40 or 50 metres from the shore. The beach is accessible from Parikia's port by a small boat (2nd stop), or you can walk around 40 minutes from the house along the same route as for Krios beach. Or better you can reach it by car or bike. Also here you can find beach bars, sun beds and umbrellas.

* Antiparos Island

You can reach the Antiparos Island taking a little boat from Parikia Port, or from Pounta Port with a bigger boat if you have a car or a bike. You can reach some beautiful beaches of Antiparos just walking from the port.
