Perched on a hill in the centre of Parlatuvier, self-catering Tamarind House villa provides breathtaking, uninterrupted views of both the oldest protected rain forest in the Western hemisphere and one of the most attractive beaches along Tobago’s Caribbean coastline. Completed in April 2007 the rental villa with separate apartment is a thoughtfully designed and constructed log house. It is a perfect holiday retreat. From the verandas, pool, terrace and garden, guests can relax and watch the day go by - fishing boats leaving early and arriving with the catch mid afternoon, the daily migration of orange winged parrots, cocricos, egrets and corn birds to and from their favourite roosts, and much more besides. With the beach an easy stroll of 4 or 5 minutes away there is ample opportunity to swim and snorkel amongst coral reefs fringing the beach.

Parlatuvier area

The spectacular fishing village of Parlatuvier is just a 30 km drive from Crown Point Airport, up along the picturesque North Coast road. This working village has a perfect crescent shaped beach curving away towards pretty pastel beach houses, a small elementary school, a few tiny shops, a rum parlour and breathtaking views. Set against a backdrop of stunning tropical rain forest Parlatuvier is Caribbean village life at its simplest.
On either side of Parlatuvier are the villages of Castara, Englishman’s Bay and Bloody Bay, each with their own beautiful beaches and a variety of restaurants and small shops. Fresh fish can be bought most days from the jetty in Parlatuvier and at the fishermen’s cooperative in Castara. Bird watching, rain forest walks, boat trips, fishing trips, snorkeling and scuba diving are just a few of the activities that can be found within the village or just a short drive away. Tamarind House villa accommodation consists of:- In the main house (upper level):- 2 double bedrooms one with with en-suite facilities, one with separate bathroom and 1 twin bedroom with en-suite facilities. Large open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. Veranda with teak furniture and hammock. Laundry facilities. Two of the bedrooms open onto a long veranda overlooking the Caribbean Sea, and a further double bedroom enjoys wonderful rain forest views to the rear of the house. The living area also leads onto the long veranda with sea views at the front and views of the rain forest at the back.
TAMARIND HOUSE APARTMENT IS AVAILABLE FOR RENT AS AN ALTERNATIVE OR ADDITIONAL ACCOMMODATION TO THE MAIN VILLA. THIS GIVES THE OPTION OF RENTING THE PROPERTY FOR ANY NUMBER OF PEOPLE (MAXIMUM 10 including use of futon and cot) AT DIFFERENT RATES DEPENDING ON YOUR REQUIREMENTS. Tamarind House Apartment (below main villa) consists of:- 1 twin bedroom with separate bathroom. Living area with fully equipped kitchenette and futon sofa-bed.

Outside to the rear of the property there is a well maintained garden and pool area with terrace and gazebo, from where one can relax and enjoy panoramic views of lush tropical rainforest. There is ample pool furniture, pool shower, hammock, wet bar and gas barbecue/grill. Parking space for multiple cars.

Additional services provided at clients expense: Taxi or hire car to and from the airport. Shopping for groceries and delivery to house prior to arrival (your personal shopping list to be provided two weeks prior to arrival). Cooked meal on arrival. Additional maid services depending on individual requirements. International telephone calls made from the house phone.

Conditions

TERMS: 50% payable on acceptance of the booking – balance payable 6 weeks prior to arrival. (In the event of a cancellation a refund will be possible only if we are able to replace the booking). A damage deposit of £150 payable at time of deposit. This will be refunded to your account, less any deduction for damages or International phone calls, at end of the rental period.
