Located in the heart of the 9th district, this beautiful apartment has been decorated with an eye for detail, featuring well-chosen art work and contemporary furniture. Typical of the Haussmannian architecture, with its elegant wooden floor, high ceilings, mouldings, large fireplaces, and big windows, it comprises a lobby, a bright living room with 2 comfortable double sofa beds, a dining table and chairs, a bedroom with a double bed and spacious closets, a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with a tub, a separate wc/powder room.
Situated on the upscale rue des Martyrs, it's particularly close to Montmartre (you can see the Sacré Coeur from the doorstep and the Moulin Rouge is 5 mn away) and the famous Opéra Garnier (very close itself to the Musee du Louvre); There you can enjoy the shopping mecca of Galeries Lafayette and Printemps, and the luxury jewellery stores from rue de la Paix and Place Vendôme, among many others.
The rue des Martyrs is lined with traditional food stores (boulangeries, patisseries, chocolatiers, charcuteries, boucheries, wine cellars, fromagers), fruits and vegetables stores, organic food stores, trendy cafes and restaurants.
The nearby theaters and museums (I strongly recommend the Musée National Gustave Moreau, a hidden gem of a museum, formerly the artist's home and studio, and the Musée de la vie Romantique, where you can enjoy tea in the little, old fashioned garden, away from the hustle and bustle of the city streets) make the whole neighborhood very lively.
Despite being located in one of the "bohemian-bourgeois" hotspots of the city, the apartment is very quiet at night as it overlooks a beautiful private courtyard and not the street.
There is a concierge in attendance on the building at all times.
The nearest Metro station (Notre-Dame-de-Lorette) is 2 mn away and every tourist site can be reached walking.
Bikes (Vélib) can be easily rented in the street for a few euros a day.
The Gare du Nord (Eurostar; for trains from England, Belgium and Holland) is only a 10/15 mn walk away.
The Gare de l'Est (Luxembourg and Germany) is a 10 mn taxi ride away (or a 20 mn walk away).
The Gare de Lyon (Switzerland and Italy) is 30 mn away by subway.
The Gare Montparnasse (Spain) is 20/25 mn away by subway (and direct to Notre-Dame-de-Lorette, the nearest Metro station).
The Roissy/Charles de Gaulle airport is a 45 mn taxi ride (45/80 euros, according to time and traffic) or a 1h train ride away (through Gare du Nord, RER C, 9.10 euros/person).
The Orly airport is a 45 mn taxi ride (45/80 euros) or a 1h15 mn train ride away.
From Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport:
Terminal 1 - Take the CDGVAL automatic train and get off at the stop 'Terminal 2 Gare' then follow
the signs for "Paris by train".
Terminal 2 - Follow the signs for "Paris par train"
Terminal 3 - Take the walkway (about 250 metres) then follow the signs for "Paris par train"
Take the RER B in the direction Paris and get off at Gare du Nord.
The walk from Gare du Nord to the apartment will only take you 10 mns : walk down Rue de Maubeuge and almost at the bottom make a right on Rue Choron, which brings you directly to Rue des Martyrs. However you can also take the Metro :
Take the Line 2 in the direction Porte Dauphine and get off at Pigalle (3 stops)
Take the Line 12 in the direction Mairie d'Issy and get off at Notre Dame de Lorette (2 stops)
From the Metro Station:
From the Notre Dame de Lorette metro station, walk down the Rue de Châteaudun in the direction of the traffic, then turn left onto the Rue Flecher. When you get to the intersection, at the back of the church, continue straight ahead onto the Rue des Martyrs.
You can park nearby (less than 5 mn walking) in a secure parking (charges apply; about 33euros/24 h): Parking Saint Georges, 20 Rue Clauzel (01/48/78/94/72).
The keys will be handed to you directly at the apartment.

"Beautiful apartment, great neighbourhood, and excellent host."
I booked this apartment at the last minute for myself, husband and two children on a trip to Paris. The host Charles was very responsive and helpful from the time we made the first enquiry right through til the end of our stay, answering all our queries quickly and thoroughly and even arranging for a late check out, which was greatly appreciated!
Having visited Paris many times, staying in a range of different places, this apartment was a wonderful surprise, clean, modern and clearly recently renovated, overlooking a quiet courtyard. The apartment was spacious and easily accomodated the four of us, there is just no comparison with a tiny hotel room! The fully equipped kitchen was also great, making our stay really economical (especially with two kids!), and allowing us to buy and prepare some of the wonderful produce from the street.
On that point, the neighbourhood is fantastic, there is absolutely everything you could possibly need or want in the same street, including supermarkets, bakeries, butchers, cheese shops, fruit stores, clothes boutiques, and the list goes on. For the younger crowd, it is also full of trendy restaurants and bars. Having said that, we felt totally comfortable and safe in the neighbourhood as well, with lots of families around.
The location is really central, close to Montmartre and many of the main tourist attractions are only a short distance away.
We loved our stay, highly recommend the apartment, and look forward to coming back for a longer stay to explore further!
