"Spacious, Beautiful, Convenient!"
Everything that others have written are absolutely true: fantastic apartment near Sacre Coeur. The apartment design is classic with fabulous fireplaces, mirrors, chandeliers, floor to ceiling windows with soundproofing, gorgeous old wood floors. Kitchen and bathroom are fully modernized, with gas cooktop, electric oven and microwave, great rain shower and power shower (no tub-didn't miss it). We never cooked anything but breakfast and barely that with more than one boulangerie nearby selling croissants to die for. A tip about the coffeemaker, be sure to manually switch it off when your cup is full, it doesn't shut off automatically like a Keurig machine (whoops). And the beds are indeed unbelievably comfortable. There is no air conditioning, but we would leave the windows open all evening before retiring to let in the cool air, then close them up and run the electric fans that were in the storage closet and we slept like the dead. Streets were too noisy for us to leave the windows open all night- sirens going all night, occasional loud arguments on the street, etc. As for owner/managers, Luke has really provided all of the needed information in a very helpful notebook, and also signs they have posted around the apartment. Caroline, the manager, was very friendly and helpful in getting us acclimated as well. The apartment was spotless upon our arrival and we very much appreciated the bottle of wine as a welcome gift. Also, there is unlimited wi-fi, which was huge for our teenage daughter! The only reason for 4 stars is that the street is not what you might imagine when looking at the interior shots of the apartment and knowing that it is in the Montmartre area, the street itself is definitely working class, not a tourist area. Lots of weave and wig shops, road construction down at the corner, very lively and noisy. But remember this is a huge space for the price, it felt totally safe, and the metro station is literally a block away. The basilica is also a short walk up the hill where you will find the long steps/stairs, which lead up into the artsy and very touristy area. Be sure to check out the fantastic view overlooking the entire city from the steps of the church around sunset. One other recommendation is if you are looking for fantastic crepes in a sit-down restaurant, there a creperie in the area called La Bolee d'Armorique-look it up! A couple of details to note, there is a hair dryer and clothes steamer in the bathroom, body wash is provided as well. We could have used an iron and ironing board, a broom for sweeping up our breakfast crumbs, and a few extra towels, there were only 3 towels provided; we had 3 people in there for 5 days. But of course there is a washer/dryer, so there can always be clean towels if you do enough laundry. Overall this was a wonderful Paris holiday with a superb apartment to come home to. Highly recommend!
Thank you for your very helpful and informative Review, and for your family's taking such great care of our apartment during your stay! When choosing our home in Paris, it was the highly unusual mix of a large space with such classic historic interior charms that you speak of that captured our imagination: fireplaces, mirrors, chandeliers, old parquet wood floors in Hungarian-point pattern. We endeavored to modernize the kitchen and bathroom, from floor to ceiling and everything in between, to bring the space into the comfort and luxury of the 21st century. Coffee machine: Yes, our Nespresso machine is a simple model, so must push the button to shut-off; thank you for reminder, I will aim to place a more permanent note on the machine. Guests are invited to bring or buy Nespresso capsules of their preference! Yes, in the heights of summer when the temperatures peak in Paris, our apartment can benefit from a nice cross-breeze to cool it down while you are home and inside. As people do stay out in the city later during the warmer months, we usually close the windows at night to dampen noise from outside, as you did. Glad to hear you found the information binder and signs helpful, and the apartment clean and spotless. And that you enjoyed the space! At 85 sq meters (900 sq ft) the apartment is very large for Paris these days. Again, thank you for your helpful review and feedback, as well as taking great care of our place during your stay!

"Live like a local!"
Firstly Luke the owner is extremely helpful and honest. This apartment is exactly how it looks in the photos. If you want to live like a local, renting an apartment is the way to go. My children played every afternoon in the courtyard with the gorgeous French children who lived in the apartment block. This was their highlight of their visit to Paris. The apartment is perfect for a family of six. There is plenty of room for children to move around instead of being restricted to a small, expensive hotel room. The apartment has grand mirrors above the four fireplaces in each room and gorgeous chandeliers hanging in the living room. The kitchen and bathroom are practically brand new. There are plenty of supermarkets a short walk away and a beautiful bakery a couple of doors down. The Metro station Chateau Rouge is across the road. It can get quite noisy some nights and apartment is in African area of Paris. Big positive is that is walking distance to Sacre Couer and old village of Montmartre.
Thank you for your kind and lovely review of our apartment, we sincerely appreciate it!

"Very Nice Apartment"
This apartment was a very nice base to see Paris from. It's easy walking distance from multiple metro stops, one of which is practically across the street. The street it's on is a little unusual with all of the hair weave shops but it's also really interesting and the people on the street were friendly, it was certainly not a problem area. The apartment is only a five minute walk to the Sacre Couer and the heart of Montmartre, and there are plenty of amenities near by including a very large supermarket. The building is old, and yes the floors squeak, but it's very charming and in very good condition. Very clean and well maintained. The manager was very friendly and helpful. I wouldn't say it was a terribly child friendly rental, at least not for a very young child. Unlike some vacation rentals there are not a lot of extras in the apartment. There were just enough towels provided - one bath towel for each person, one hand towel in the kitchen and one in the bath, and one kitchen towel. There wasn't enough toilet paper for our 3 day stay and I had to run and buy some along with paper towels. We have a toddler, we mop up a lot of spills. There were also no extra blankets, and we had to put our little one down with a huge comforter over her because there was nothing lighter available. Also, you can absolutely hear the upstairs neighbors, and while they weren't up particularly late or making an obscene amount of noise it was hard to put our toddler down to bed at 8pm, she didn't get to sleep until after 9 a single night. While there weren't any toys or anything she LOVED the antique bird cage. I have lots of cute pics. I would certainly recommend the apartment, though perhaps not for those traveling with a very young child. If I were back in Paris with just my husband or another adult friend I would certainly consider staying again.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful and helpful review of your stay at our apartment, and for taking such great care of the apartment during your family's stay. Yes, multiple grocery stores are within a 2 block walk, including the recent large renovated Carrefour on rue Clignancourt, 1.5 blocks away. We do provide a towel for each guests staying in the apartment; true that we do not provide 2 bath towels for each guest, as such number of towels in the apartment are not normally required by most guests during their vacation stay, particularly with the washing and drying machine available in the apartment. For consumable items like toilette paper, a minimum 2 rolls is provided, as per the rental agreement; as most families wish to buy some basic supplies at the neighborhood grocery stores for the apartment, any such additional supplies are usually purchased by our guests according to their preferences.

"Chic, Classic Parisian Apartment"
We had a wonderful stay over New Year at Luke and Jennifer's apartment, only a short walk away from the Sacré-Cœur. The apartment was immaculately clean when we arrived. Caroline, the apartment manager, was very kind and helpful, giving us all the information we would need to have a wonderful stay. The apartment itself was very charming - the shower was fabulous, the kitchen was brand new. We cooked at the apartment quite a lot and never lacked of utensils, etc. We were a family of 6 adults and one child (three-year-old). There was plenty of space and we never felt cramped. The location was perfect - many restaurants and attractions right at the doorstep. Thank you so much Luke, Jennifer and Caroline for a wonderful stay! I hope we are able to come back again, and will definitely recommend your place to our friends and family for their Paris stay!
We are so happy to hear of your family's wonderful experience and enjoyment of our apartment! Pleased to hear the many points of feedback. Clean: Will pass on your thanks to our cleaner! Shower and Kitchen: Our two major renovations to the apartment to add a touch of modern luxury... happy that you appreciated them! Space: At 85 square meters, the apartment is very large for Paris, and does allow for a comfortable space for family's travelling and relaxing during the enjoyment of the city. Location: The hillside Montmartre neighborhood has some of Paris's most charming small streets and winding hidden neighborhoods; we chose it for that same reason! We would welcome your friends and family on any future trips to Paris! Thank you again!

Grazie mille for your kind and informative Review of the apartment. Happy that you found the apartment and large bedrooms comfortable, clean and excellently maintained. The large 85 square meters space provided by our apartment offers a lot of room to breathe and relax after a busy day in Paris.

"Beautiful, typical Parisian apartment - a great base from which to explore Paris."
Lovely spacious traditional style Parisian apartment in Montmartre. The apartment is tastefully furnished and the kitchen was well equipped. There is a lovely shower room and a concealed washer & dryer which was great travelling with children. The metro station (Chateau rouge) is literally a minute from the apatrment and there are several bakeries & supermarkets just 5 mins walk away. We could easily walk to Sacre Coeur and the surrounding area. We would definitely return to this apartment and would recommend it to others.

"Spacious apartment in downtown Montmartre"
When booking this apartment, the owner Luke, allayed any of my possible fears about booking accommodation on the Internet. He suggested we talk on the phone and then contacted me regularly to reassure me the process was proceeding according to plan. When my friend and I eventually arrived at the apartment, the Paris contact Caroline showed us around and how everything worked. Luke has left a welcome pack explaining where all the cafes and restaurants are which is very helpful. The apartment itself was spacious and very elegant. I was under the impression that it had two bathrooms; however, it has one main bathroom plus a separate toilet with a small hand basin which I wouldn’t call a separate bathroom. You have to walk through the main bedroom to get to the bathroom but if the person in that bedroom doesn’t mind, it isn’t a problem — it wasn’t an issue for us. The bathroom and kitchen are very modern and the kitchen has beautiful utensils and whitegoods. The wooden floors squeak a little so you can hear people walking around, and you can also hear the upstairs neighbours and children playing in the courtyard below. However, this was not an issue. The beds are amazingly comfortable (as well as the sofa bed) and the double glazing on the windows shields you from the bustle outside. The neighbourhood is interestingly diverse. The streets appear a bit unclean and littered so it can be a little offputting at first sight. Once we walked around and got used to the neighbourhood, we felt at ease and were never concerned about safety. Uphill, it turns into a more typical Parisian neighbourhood and is very close to the Sacre Coeur, with wonderful cafes, bars, restaurants and very good grocery stores. You can buy food very cheaply or not so cheaply as you wish —there are lots of choices. The apartment is very close to the Chateau Rouge metro station and is only about 20 minutes from the main centre of Paris. There are two flights of stairs to climb but you get used to that. I loved coming home at the end of the day to the spacious elegance and very comfortable bed. We had a fantastic stay – thanks so much!

"Pefect Spot to visit Paris"
What an excellent apartment from which to explore Paris. I was a little worried about the neighborhood when I used Google Maps to view the area, but I can report, even with our 3 children we felt safe the whole time. This is a vibrant, bustling neighborhood with lots of foot traffic, and friendly neighbors. Once we heard a large “mob noise” of people yelling down the street and it turns out they were filming a French movie on the street! The accommodations were just as advertised and the balcony doors offer good noise sheltering from the street and good access to the balcony. We had plenty of room for 3 girls in the living room area, my sister had her own bedroom, and my wife and I had the master suite. The kitchen is perfect and we were easily able to cook a meal. It’s very easy to get to the subway and if you walk in the opposite direction of the subway, you are in the middle of a bustling French café district. The bakery on the corner nearest the subway is excellent and there is a huge supermarket on Rue Clignancourt. I wish we didn’t have to leave, and hope to come back soon.
