This flat is located in the traditionally French area of the 14th arrondissement of Paris bordering to the Latin Quarter through Boulevard de Montparnasse. You can walk to Montparnasse in 10 mins and to Luxembourg Gardens in 20 mins. In the local area there are plenty of things to do and interesting places: rue Daguerre, the fish and fruit market pedestrian street (near Denfert Rochereau transport hub), Alesia and Pernety are only 5 mins from the apartment where you can find shops, cinemas, and many restaurants. Nearby is also the Paris catacumbs in Denfert Rochereau.
There are plenty of local restaurants and food chain supermarkets as well as local street markets and grocery stores in the local area.
The apartment will be thoroughly clean before you arrive. Cleaning is not included in the price. I will expect to find the apartment tidy when you depart, otherwise the cleaning person will need to spend longer tidying up and cleaning and I will have to deduct the extra expenditure from your deposit. Please note that I do not expect you to clean the apartment but leave it tidy eg: clean the kitchen surface or tables if you spill drinks, wash your own glasses, plates, etc, take the rubbish bin downstairs. I of course do not expect you to hoover, dust over the furniture or clean the bathroom.
Please check my own website for further details on conditions. The apartment is strictly non-smoking. Cleaning is done once a week but if you wish additional cleaning during the week, I can arrange that for you for an additional charge of €30.00.
Payment is made by either by PayPal, credit card or bank transfer before the stay along with the returnable security deposit of €250
The Ile-de-France region
Paris city of lights
The French capital, resplendent in its prestige, architecture and cultural importance, never ceases to appeal and fascinate.
It's difficult, if not impossible, to describe in a few lines a city which enjoys one of the world’s most flattering reputations. Its rich past and flourishing cultural life make Paris one of the world’s most visited cities - nearly 20 million visitors a year.
Ile-de-France boasts numerous open spaces outside Paris for sports such as golf, horse riding, mountain biking (MTB), walking and other outdoors activities. I recommend the forests of Montmorency, Ile d’Adam, Compiegne and Fontainebleau
Please visit my apartment personal website for further details about the local area and tourist activities.
Paris catacombs, Luxembourg gardens, pedestrian market street Rue Daguerre, Park Montsouris, Place de Catalogne and its landscape views of the eiffel Tower, theatre and restaurant area of Gaite and nightlife Montparnasse, Flea market in Vanves and Alesia for shops and cinemas, Pernety artists hidden streets: rue Thermophiles, rue Olivier Noyer, rue de Moulin Vert...
Alternatively you can rent a bike in Alesia and ride on designated bike lanes to the Efiffel tower via Boulevard de Breteuil. Be in the Eiffel tower in 15 mins and ride along the Seine on a traffic free road by the Seine, end your journey at Notre Dame, take some pictures and ride up Boulevard de Saint michel to Luxembourgh Gardens in 10 mins, be back home in an extra 10 mins. All that in less than an hour unless you prefer to stop and relax at the sights. Please ask me for information about bikes, cycling routes and cycling ideas in and around Paris. I am a keen city and MTB cyclist.

"Friendly home and stable basis for our great holiday in Paris"
If we go to a big city we prefer to book an apartment. We can have more privacy there and more space and it just feels like being home. This little gem in the middle of the 14th district was just perfect for our needs. The apartment is lovely, well equipped and clean, just like it’s written in the description. The windows look to the yard so it’s quiet, no street noise. There’s a huge collection of books and DVD’s, my husband got acquainted with one of the funny books - we had to order it for ourselves. :) The area is great, safe and nice living area, just out of the most touristic places which is perfect so we could have dinner in brasseries where they are cooking for locals. We especially enjoyed bistro cent8, where next to the French menu, they have every evening some delicious daily specials. We loved it. If you want to get fresh baguette in the morning there are more boulangerie’s around and the grocery shops are also very close by. The area is really made to live in it! The booklet on the table with the most important info’s is very handy, I certainly suggest it to everybody to check it out before planning to do anything. I also found the little box full of leaflets about POI’s a good initiative. And last but not least about David. He is a very good and clever business man. Helpful, understanding and prompt in responding. The return of the deposit happened at the day of the departure. We’ll certainly recommend this apartment to every friend of ours and if we’ll ever return to Paris we’ll contact David again! Many thanks for providing a friendly home, a stable basis for our great holiday in Paris!
Hello there, I am very flattered by your comments about the apartment and the local area, thank you! I am also very pleased to hear that you discovered and enjoyed the 14th arrondissement. I must have been going past Bistro Cent’8 hundreds of times in the way to Monoprix and have never tried it other than for a coffee on the bar. Thanks for the tip I will give it a try myself. I am interested to hear about that book you found interesting and ended up buying, is it the ‘Year in the Merde’ book from Stephen Clarke perhaps? That’s the most popular book in our little library. Thank you once again for your custom and hope to see you coming back one day. ;)

"Really good value for money in an interesting area of Paris"
This apartment is extremely good value for money. Located in a really nice part of Paris with good transport links and amenities nearby. The apartment is very comfortable with all you could possibly need. I would really recommend this for people who do not mind the 20 minute journey into the center of Paris but want something a bit cheaper with a great selection of brasseries.

"Peaceful and calm Parisian apartment"
We really enjoyed our stay in my Paris apartment. The apartment is light, peaceful and very nicely decorated. The local area of Montparnasse is very nice and gave us a taste of a more authentic Paris than staying in a central hotel might have offered, but with easy access to the centre and all the sights. We even hired bicycles at the velo point just around the corner and cycled to the Champs Elysses! We were very pleased with the good selection of guide books and other information which was provided. This apartment offers very good value compared to other places we looked at and we'd definitely look to stay again when we return to this wonderful city.
