The Paphos District
Locals will tell you that the area enjoys 340 days of sunshine a year with the average temperatures June to September, 32 degrees, from December to February,16 degrees and from March to May and October to November, 25 degrees !
The history of the area stretches back to Roman times, and sites to see amazing mosaics can be found around the harbour area, Tombs of the Kings on the Paphos-Coral Bay Road, where archeological digs are underway. The Baths of Aphrodite are situated further along the coast at Polis and Adonis baths with an amazing waterfall where you can take a welcome dip are nearby to Pegeia (well signposted). St Paul's church in Paphos town centre is well worth a visit to see the wonderfuly preserved, and still well used, interior, the mosaics outside and the Roman pillars, including the one where St Paul was, according to legend, tied to and whipped.
Golf 30 mins away on the road from Paphos to Limassol.
In Paphos you can also visit museums and Sea World. There are popular Wednesday and Saturday markets where fresh produce as well as souveniers can be bought. UK shops names such as Debenhams, Marks and Spencer, Next and Mothercare can be found in the town, too! The harbour area in Paphos, with it's ancient Fort at the head, is also a popular tourist area, with many restaurants/tavernas offering wonderful fresh fish on the menu. There are many water sports available here and also the famous Glass Bottom boat. The old fort at the head of the harbour provides excellent views across. There are often open air concerts in front of the fort where music and singing can be enjoyed. Bank holidays are celebrated in style here with Cypriot families gathering in the harbour area to enjoy a meal together. During Easter there is often a carnival procession will be found along the seafront.
Paphos / Coral Bay area
Pegeia (also spelt Peyia) is a large village overlooking the popular beach resort of Coral Bay. Its buildings seem to tumble down the hillside in a cascade, and the road (E709) leading up through the village continues to twist and turn its way further up to the hill top and across the hills to Kathikas, another typical unspoilt village. Further on this road will take you to Polis and Latchi. Polis enjoys the natural beauty of the Argaka forest area leading down onto the beach and Latchi is famous for it's fish restaurant all along the seafront, where you can dine and watch the fishing boats arrive and leave the harbour. The coast below Peyia is very special too, known as Sea Caves and has a labyrinth of spectacular formations that, over the centuries, have been carved by the sea in the soft rock. After a drink in the Old Mill, enjoy an evening of 'meze' in the local Peyia Tavern or a curry or chinese meal at Sophie's restaurant or Costa's restaurant just outside the village. Meals are not to be hurried in Cprus and the local phrase 'siga, siga' - 'slowly, slowly' is perfect!

Guestbook
Superb apartment with wonderful views. My daughters were in the pool within a few minutes of arriving! We had several excellent meals at Sophie's restaurant in the village followed by a drink in the 'Jail' pub! We have already booked again for next year.
Mr and Mrs K (Birmingham)
Swimming pool brilliant - what a wonderful size. Apartment so comfortable and clean, just as described. Amenities at Coral Bay beach excellent. We enjoyed restaurants in the village as well as fish restaurants in Paphos harbour. Late evening drinks on the balcony with stars above and village lights below, just magical!
Mrs W (Southampton)
Apartment absolutely 'spot on' in every respect and we hope to return again next year.

July 2007 - "thank you for the wonderful stay at your apartment; please add to your Guest Book that it was one of the best apartments we have stayed in. Clean, spacious, well equipped and lovely views, including the surrounding area and pool were excellent too. Will definitely recommend to friends. Thank you for the lemon cake as well; it was great!
