It’s just a ten minute stroll into Tala village where you’ll find a good selection of shops and tavernas. The Paphos District
Cyprus has more to offer the visitor than any other Mediterranean island, a fascinating blend of landscape, climate, history and culture. There is a seemingly endless coastline of sandy coves and beaches washed gently by crystal clear blue waters.
Travel a little way from the coast into the pine forests , an hours drive in the Winter for skiing in the Troodos Mountains; experience a kaleidoscope of colours in the Spring time; meet the local people whose reputation for good food and hospitality is world-wide and you will discover for yourself why this magical island has been attracting people for over 9,000 years.
Birthplace of Aphrodite and in Roman times the capital of Cyprus, Paphos is one of the most beautiful and ancient towns of Cyprus and is situated on the southwest coast. Sheltered from the north by the Troodos Mountains, it has the healthiest climate in the Mediterranean. Paphos Harbour with it's ancient castle, marine and water sports centres, is lined with colourful restaurants serving fresh fish and marine delicacies. Nearby are archaeological sites, rich with antiquities, providing an interest away from the usual - in fact UNESCO has included Paphos on it's World Cultural Heritage List.
There are no private beaches on the island and Cyprus boasts dozens of European Blue Flag awards. The secluded sandy beaches are perfect for snorkelling and every watersport you can imagine. If you want excitement then you may want to visit one of three world class water parks within easy reach that rival any in the world. Or, if you want something more relaxing there are three top class golf courses (par 71/72) within 20 minutes drive.
Paphos / Tala area
Tala is a popular and growing village 8km north of Paphos, set on a west facing hillside looking out over the blue Mediterranean. Immediately north of the village is the famous Agios Neofytos monastery dating from 1159.
In the fields around Tala you’ll find vineyards, orange, lemon, olive and almond trees and banana plantations. You can drive to Villa Alkira from Paphos Airport in about thirty minutes. From the villa it’s an easy drive into Paphos for some of the best shopping you’ll find anywhere in Cyprus.
It’s also an easy drive to the centre of Pegeia – a vibrant community stretching from the bright lights of Coral Bay to the traditional centre of the old village. There are a good choice of beaches within an easy drive. Try Coral Bay – a great beach with every amenity you could imagine. Alternatively drive up the coast road into the Akamas Region to enjoy the deserted beaches of Lara and beyond.

Villa Alkira is a luxury villa, fully air conditioned and equipped for you to have a relaxing holiday. It’s spacious, bright and airy with colourful furniture able to accommodate six people in comfort.
The ground floor is a large open plan area comprising lounge, dining area and kitchen. A covered outside terrace opens off the lounge to the garden and swimming pool.
The kitchen is large and very well equipped including granite worktops, a washing machine and dishwasher. Between the kitchen and dining area there’s a granite topped breakfast bar with bright leather stools. The dining area has a glass topped table and six leather chairs with doors opening out to the side garden area. There’s a music system to connect your iPod to.
The airy lounge area has a massive corner sofa perfect for relaxing in front of the television with Satellite and DVD player. From the lounge, doors open out onto a covered terrace with table and six chairs – perfect for relaxing in the shade, alfresco dining and socialising with your party. For your entertainment, we have board games e.g. rumikub, backgammon, & cards, as well as DVDs + CDs, Ipod/MR3 station. We also have a set of mens and ladies golf clubs.
Upstairs, the landing leads to three good-sized bedrooms and the large family bathroom with bath and shower over. The master bedroom has two single beds and en-suite bathroom including a shower cubicle. Doors lead out to the balcony with table, chairs and stunning views across the fields to the sea at Chlorakas . The perfect place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast.
There are two further bedrooms, one double and one twin. Both are bright, airy rooms with dressing tables. Flyscreens fitted throughout. Internet Access is available (own laptop required).

Villa Alkira is an attractive villa with stone detailing on the front with an archway porch for the front door. A driveway leads to the front of the villa and around into the rear garden area. There’s a carport to keep the car cool in the heat of the summer.
The enclosed and landscaped gardens include an 8m x 4m swimming pool with shower, surrounded by areas for loungers and a barbecue. The villa has six loungers and two bright umbrellas to make the most of the pool area.

**Please note that this property can be accessed at any time from 3pm on day of arrival. We can arrange taxi transfer by our own driver who knows where the property is and also assist with car hire. The property is professionally managed (you will always have a contact) and has linen changes and cleaning on a weekly basis. Air-Conditioning is included in the rental price as is a welcome pack of basic essentials for your arrival.**
