The Paphos District
Tala is situated 9 K from Pathos, with historic sites in the old town such as Roman remains, fortress, tombs, picturesque harbour and shopping in the modern area of Kato Paphos and lots of vibrant night life. There is a huge choice of restaurants and entertainment, along with cultural activities at the historic mediaeval castle. Next to Paphos Harbour lies the Roman remains, with amazingly well preserved mosaic flooring along with the Odeion theatre and historic Paphos lighthouse, as well as the remains of the "Saranda Kolones" Ottoman fortress it is an UNESCO World Heritage site. Between the Market and the Harbour lie Solomon's Catacombs and the enormous Tombs of the Kings area with ongoing excavations.
As well as lots of tavernas, restaurants and popular coves there are interesting remains such as Agia Solomoni Church In Kato Paphos, originally a Christian catacomb retaining 12th century frescoes, and the pillar where St Paul was beaten. The Tomb of the Kings, an impressive underground tombs from C4th BC, is on the way into Paphos. Also close by are the Bath of Aphrodite with its fountain of love, Aphrodite's birthplace, the monasteries of Chrysorrogiatissa and Agios Neofytos.
Coral Bay boasts the best beach in the area and is a mini resort in itself. Horse riding is available in the edge of the Akamas National park. Visit the national parks for off road driving and walking. Drive or try a jeep safaris to see protected Greenback turtles beach at Lara, visit the waterfalls at Adonis, fishing villages, and sea caves in the Akamas National Park.
For the family there are lots of places to visit such as the Paphos Waterpark, the Paphos Bird Park/Zoo and Snake Georges at Coral Bay or try go carting, 10 pin bowling, cinemas, or bowling.

Tala village is popular with expats and has become a sought after area to live. Away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist scene but close enough to experience them when you want. The area is very relaxing, built on a hillside with panoramic views to the sea. There are shops, cafes and restaurants in the village. The villages square with restaurants, bar and coffee shops are nearby. Olivers Deli (www.oliversdelicatessen.com) offers a great range of food.
Just a short drive away is a large supermarket in Kissonerga and Paphos Town with all amenities and services offering everything you might need. Beaches are just 10 minutes drive from Tala and Tsada Golf Course is conveniently near. Its elevated location gives Tala the additional benefit of cooling breezes from the sea and a less humid climate. As well as Coral beach, a safe place to swim, there are lots of little coves to visit and the Akamas nature reserve with its turtle beach and fishing villages such as Agios Georgios.

Further details outdoors: The panoramic views from the roof garden over Paphos and Coral Bay are spectular and the quiet location makes this a relaxing place to be. The house is situated east to west which means there is always somewhere where you can sit in the shade, when the sun is hot. The views on the west side over the mountains are also great. Whilst a car is useful you can get around using either bus or taxi.Pool area has showers and changing rooms.
