The Paphos District
Paphos itself consists of two towns, each with its very own character. Ktima on the cliff (Upper Paphos) and Kato Paphos by the sea (Lower Paphos). One is virtually unchanged over the centuries and thoroughly Cypriot, while the other has expanded over the last decade from a sleepy fishing village and harbour, into a vibrant cosmopolitan resort which is expanding and improving each year.
In Kato Paphos, (in the archaeological park), you will find many fine mosaics and buildings from Greek and Roman periods, plus the Harbour Castle. Close by, is the church of St Paul's Pillar, where the pillar St Paul was tied to can be found. Further down this road are the Tombs of the Kings and Christian Catacombs.
Going towards the unspoilt Akamas Peninsula (10km), there is Lara Bay, (famous for turtles) and Latchi, famous for its seafront and harbour restaurants as well as the clean sandy beach and crystal clear waters.
Heading North by car, you can find the route through Tsada, Cedar Valley and the Troodos Mountains. The route is peppered with many other small but charming villages along the way.
An excellent highway runs to all corners of Cyprus but the old coast road is the most scenic route. A drive along here past various ancient sites such as Aphrodite's Birthplace and Temple, towards Limassol, taking in Curium, is delightful and is littered with the most beautiful views.
Paphos / Tala area
The villa is situated in the breathtaking hills of Tala, in Paphos. Its elevated position ensures all-round town and sea views which can be enjoyed from the landscaped garden, swimming pool and from most rooms of the house.
Only a 10 minute drive from the Blue Flag beaches at Coral Bay and from the centre of Paphos, Tala is a popular location for visitors, ex-pat residents and holiday home owners alike. Looking down on the main town of Paphos (out to the Med), and often labelled the 'Beverley Hills' of Cyprus, Tala offers a peaceful location with a good village heart including the infamous monastery and a fine selection of bars, restaurants, traditional taverns and other eateries.
Tala is home to the now famous 'Olivers' delicatessen and 'The Gallery' which is a very tranquil and upmarket bistro bar, in a private and leafy setting.
The village is conveniently situated for Golf at 'Tsada', with further golf courses at Secret Valley and Aphrodite Hills less than 30 minutes away by car. "This was our second visit to Villa Serenity, and the only problem is knowing when we can go back for our third time! I think I used pretty well all of my bank of superlatives after last years holiday, but I will gladly repeat them all this year! We felt at home immediately on arrival, aided in no small part by Mauro & Carole who will go out of their way to make you feel welcome. This villa provides absolutely everything that you could possibly want - the most valuable commodity being peace & quiet. If you are planning a holiday in Cyprus, then dont bother looking at anywhere else to stay, everywhere else would pale by comparison, please take my word for it!"

"An easy 1.5 hour drive from Larnaca airport (minutes if you fly to Paphos!). A beautiful villa set in the hills overlooking Paphos and the sea. Its also furnished to a very high specification with all mod cons. Close enough to Paphos to take advantage of all the restaurants/bars/attractions, but far enough out to enjoy total privacy, peace and quiet. The owners are lovely, clearly take pride in the property and are right next door if you need anything. One of the best villas weve stayed in across the world and were planning to return."

"The villa is even better than I was expecting from the photos on line. It has been equipped with a great deal of thought and care, there is everything that we, as a family of 4, needed for a cracking holiday. The owners provide a magnificent liaison and make every effort to look after their guests. The villa was a delight to stay in. The villa was even better than the pictures expected us for, a fantastic hill top location, modern amenities, stunning swimming pool what more can you ask for. Paphos was only a quick 10 minute car ride away and it was nice to return to the ‘serenity’ of the villa after venturing into town. Despite making a pact with myself that I would use the gymnasium every day, this did not happen, but if you can find the energy then you can work out with a view of the sea! A1 Villa, A1 Amenities, A1 Location.
