The Paphos District
Cyprus has more to offer the visitor than any other Mediterranean island, a fascinating blend of landscape, climate, history and culture. There is a seemingly endless coastline of sandy coves and beaches washed gently by crystal clear blue waters.
Travel a little way from the coast into the pine forests , an hours drive in the Winter for skiing in the Troodos Mountains; experience a kaleidoscope of colours in the Spring time; meet the local people whose reputation for good food and hospitality is world-wide and you will discover for yourself why this magical island has been attracting people for over 9,000 years.
Birthplace of Aphrodite and in Roman times the capital of Cyprus, Paphos is one of the most beautiful and ancient towns of Cyprus and is situated on the southwest coast. Sheltered from the north by the Troodos Mountains, it has the healthiest climate in the Mediterranean. Paphos Harbour with it's ancient castle, marine and water sports centres, is lined with colourful restaurants serving fresh fish and marine delicacies. Nearby are archaeological sites, rich with antiquities, providing an interest away from the usual - in fact UNESCO has included Paphos on it's World Cultural Heritage List.
There are no private beaches on the island and Cyprus boasts dozens of European Blue Flag awards. The secluded sandy beaches are perfect for snorkelling and every watersport you can imagine.
If you want excitement then you may want to visit one of three world class water parks within easy reach that rival any in the world.
Or, if you want something more relaxing there are three top class golf courses (par 71/72) within 20 minutes drive.
Eating out in Cyprus is not only extremely cheap but also it's virtually impossible to eat badly. A lot of the locals and tourists too, don't bother cooking at home they just eat out. You can get full English breakfasts for around £2 Cyp and even have a 20 to 30 course meal, the famous 'Cyprus Meze', for around £10 Cyp.
You can have a different Cypriot meal every night for two weeks and never eat the same thing twice, or if you miss 'Dear Old Blighty' , there are Fish & Chips shops par excellence and even a Nippy's Tea Shop to be found.
There truly is just too much of Cyprus to write about here. The best thing is to just make the effort to visit and we guarantee you will have the holiday of a lifetime.
If you wany any further information at all please use the e-mail facility and we will get back to you straight away.
We look forward to helping you create an exciting holiday and memories of a lifetime...
Paphos / Coral Bay area
11 kilometres (15 minutes drive) to the West of Paphos and 3 kilometres below the friendly and picturesque, hillside village of Peyia is Coral Bay, the best natural (European Blue Flag) beach in the area. This is an established resort with many villas set apart from one another above a wide curve of dark golden sand. The summer heat is often tempered by a gentle breeze and the sea has a shallow margin where children may play safely. In the busier months, water sports on offer include pedaloes, water skiing, banana boats, jet skis and windsurfing.
Close by the Bay you will find large hotels, banks, shops, mini-markets (for provisions and souvenirs), bars, restaurants and street cafes for casual alfresco meals. There are tavernas and snack bars overlooking the sea and a large restaurant in the next bay which is open during the day. More tavernas and local shops are just a short drive away.
Other nearby places to visit include the unspoilt Akamas Peninsula, Lara Bay (famous for turtles and crystal clear waters) and the dramatic views at Agios Georgios.
Above Peyia, lies the road to Kathikas with its traditional Village centre and great tavernas. The road then leads on to Cedar Valley and the Troodos Mountains. The route is peppered with other small but charming villages along the way. An excellent highway runs to all corners of Cyprus but the old coast road is the most scenic route. A drive along here past various ancient sites such as Aphrodite's Birthplace and Temple, towards Limassol, taking in Curium, is delightful and is littered with the most beautiful views
This really is a perfect location for a casual seaside holiday, and an excellent base for touring the Paphos area, with all it has to offer.

Guestbook for Villa Petaluda
Review submitted by Carol from Kilsyth (Submitted: 12/09/2008)
"The villa was ideal for our family requirments, the pool was particularly popular with everyone. The location of the property meant that everything was easily within walking distance and yet the villa was in a quiet little street which made it seem lovely and private. The standard of the villa was excellent, little extras like the Playstation were appreciated as well as the welcome pack on arrival. While we had no problems the properety managers were on hand to help if needed. Overall I would recommend this property as an ideal base for holidaying in this part of Cyprus."
Review submitted by Peter from Rochdale (Submitted: 04/08/2008)
"Thanks very much for your professional and efficient service. We were recommended to the villa by friends who live locally. We were very happy with the accommodation and were pleasantly surprised by all the little extras that you would not necessarily expect to be there. A true home from home. Area great too. We will be back soon."

"We are most thankful for all the assistance we got from Steven before we arrived and during our stay. Going away with 2 toddlers could have been difficult but our every need was catered for. Thanks very much."

"The property was superb and in an ideal location. Had a few taxi problems on arrival but this was more than made up for by Steven. An excellent holiday and I would definitely go back."
Review submitted by Angela from Dromore (Submitted: 21/07/2007)
"The property was extremely well equipped, everything you would have in your own home (even a playstation 2!!). The management company were efficient, friendly and helpful. Every need was catered for by Stephen, mycypruslets including info on where cheapest to shop etc. The villa itself is in a quiet residental street with very little or no traffic yet only a short 2-3 minute walk from the hustle and bustle of Coral Bay main street with various bars, restaurants, crazy golf etc. etc. There would be no need to go further on your holiday if you so wished although there is a comprehensive bus service just a few minutes walk away. All in all myself, my husband, my mother and father and my two children (aged 4 and 5) had a fantastic time. My children even learned to swim in just a few days (probably because they were in the pool from about 7.30 most mornings!). I would have no hesitation in recommending using this villa or booking with mycypruslets again. Many thanks everyone for ensuring we had a wonderful holiday."
