Home description
There is nothing in front of the villa to obstruct the amazing view of the water. Overlooking the 8m x 4m private pool and contemplating the sea, you'll wonder if there ever was a better place for sundowner cocktails! Dining in the sunlight/moonlight is at your disposal at the outdoor table, although you are more likely to be found on the full-length sunloungers while the others try to remember how to use a charcoal BBQ.
All the amenities of home are at your disposal including a fully-fitted kitchen with dishwasher, dinner service for 8, towelling and weekly cleaning service if you are staying more than one week. There is private parking for one “real” car (or 2 of the miniaturized versions they tend to rent you) beside the front door.
Endless seaviews across the private pool
You can see all the way to Paphos town!
A fabulous villa, both outside....
and in!

The Paphos District
Paphos is surrounded by the Mediterranean on 3 sides, giving it the mildest climate in Cyprus. The subtropical temperatures allow for the cultivation of produce, most importantly, vineyards! I can personally vouch for the Amalthia Xinisteri-Semillon from the Paphos-based Fikardos vineyard.
Paphos Town emanates from the Harbour which is lined with cute, overpriced cafes in which you can while away hours watching the impressive yachts, Guinness-swilling tourists and posturing Cypriots. The Harbour will also whet your appetite for embarking on the Greek ruin trail, as your best view of the Harbour is from the top of the unmissable Paphos Fort, built in 1592 on the site of a ruined medieval castle.
A good place to start is Kato Paphos, located right next to the Harbour. Paphos, as the ancient capital of Cyprus, is peppered with ruins and this site has well-preserved mosaics, cool architecture and the ancient Odeon. Even more historically significant ruins exist at the House of Dionysos and the Tombs of the Kings. As of 1980, Paphos’ ruins were recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Pick up a tourist map (free) to get an idea of how many ruins and churches you could take on. The map will also be helpful in guiding you off the waterfront toward the pub, bar and club area, but you will be best off asking a local for directions to the monasteries and vineyards in the Troodos Mountains behind Paphos or even to an authentic restaurant. Mezze, a never-ending litany of small dishes (think tapas), seems to be both the national dish and pastime.
Paphos / Coral Bay area
If you are in lounge lizard mode and don’t want to go anywhere, you don’t have to leave the villa! Coral Bay Village is a 5 min. walk and you will find everything you need for an enjoyable week – supermarket, restaurants, bars and pubs… even a number of nearby dive and adventure centres. Just try and remember what day your flight is on (!).
Good Cypriot dishes can be found at Seriani, opposite the supermarket, and a nice Italian alternative is Trattoria la Vigna at the furthest end of the strip. Also nearby and very worth checking out is the outdoor bar at the 5-star Coral Bay Beach Hotel. Your car, a taxi from Coral Bay or bus #10 or #15 can get you to Paphos Harbour. And from the Harbour, you can walk everywhere in Paphos Town (OK, everywhere touristy!).
How to get there
- Easiest flight is directly to Paphos airport; the villa is only 20 minutes away - Transportation can be arranged through my management agent for much less than a local taxi, or you can take a taxi or arrange a rental car through any UK rental agency (I wouldn't recommend the Cypriot ones!) - Alternately, fly into Larnaca airport and take the straight-forward 2 hour drive along the scenic coast
