Cyprus Sea View Apartments
About the home
We have a single property for holiday rental all year round. This is our own home in Cyprus and we have furnished it with all the things we love and need during our own holidays. Have a look around and imagine yourself here, on holiday, in the calm tranquil hills above Paphos yet only 10 minutes to the beach or vibrant night clubs. The Balcony has over 180 degrees of sea view and the whole of Paphos is spread out in front of you. A real treat during the day and at night.
There are two shared swimming pools. Both can be seen from the balcony so you can keep an eye on the children at all times. The second pool is a smaller 40cm deep childrens pool so your toddler has a chance to make a splash all on their own. Both pools are cleaned regularly and have the nice addition of water features all round. At the side of the pool we have a jacuzzi which is available all year round and is big enough to fit at least six large adults! The poolside includes showers and toilets but if you want to use your own facilities the apartment is only a short hop away.
At night time there are security lights that run through the development. Secure enough to keep you safe yet designed so that they make the garden look lovely. Combined with the card based barrier system this has to be one of the safest developments in Cyprus.
Mesa Chorio (pronounced Meza Horio) is a traditional Greek Cypriot village next to Mesogi (Mesoyi) in the district of Paphos. It is situated 15 minutes from Paphos airport, 10 minutes from Paphos old town and 15 minutes from Kato Paphos and the harbour. The well established International school is a short walk away. The village is hilly, but is definitely worth the small amount of effort needed to explore. Stop and chat to the friendly locals, have a coffee and a bite to eat in the cafe run by Colin and Ruth (but don’t forget to book for their Wednesday Curry night!) or stop by the one of the little mini-markets for your supplies. You may like to wander a bit further on to Mesogi where there is a restaurant and 2 lovely taverns all serving traditional fantastic Greek food. Or carry on and cross the Polis road to get to a bigger supermarket and the amazing bakery for all your fresh bread, croissants, pies and pastries.
The apartment is a great base from which to explore Cyprus. Nicosia is 90 minutes drive away, Limassol is just 20 minutes drive away and Polis around 40 minutes drive. You can be in the snow topped Troodos mountains in under 90 minutes. From the apartments you can walk, cycle, play golf, ski and even go fishing for an action packed activities holiday. Or just relax and visit the many local tavernas in the surrounding villages.
The apartment is self-catering and contains all you would possibly need during your holiday.

Further details indoors:
Inside the apartment there is everything you would want. Kitchen with hob, oven and extractor hood, fridge freezer (full size, not one of those with a post box freezer), coffee maker, toaster, microwave, kettle and an automatic washing machine if you need to do the washing before you get home. Good thing is that clothes only take 30 minutes to dry on the balcony.
At the side of the kitchen there is a large dining table which will seat 6 people or you can choose to take your meals out on the balcony where there is a large table and six chairs. For relaxing we have a lovely open plan lounge with flat screen TV, DVD player and a selection of DVDs, Sky receiver (so you can catch up with Corrie or Eastenders), Ipod docking station and a selection of books for you to read. The sofa turns into a bed so when you have more guests you can use this for extra sleeping arrangements. Through the sliding patio doors you come straight out on the balcony where we have a large outside table and six chairs and four sun loungers…yes, it is a big balcony! There is also a water point on the balcony of you need to wash sandy shoes or feet after a day at the beach.
That really only leaves the bedrooms and bathrooms. We have two bedrooms, one twin and one a double. The double has an on-suite double shower room and the twin has a full family bathroom with bath and shower. Both bedrooms have extensive built in wardrobes, bedside cabinets and bedside lights plus dressing tables, mirrors and radio alarms.
Accessibility to our apartment is good. All floors are on the same level and the double bedroom, at the front, has a double size walk in shower. The doors out to the balcony are level with the floors in the living room and front bedroom. Access to the pool is via two ramps. Both are quite steep but there is an alternative route to the bottom of the development, round the apartments and back up to the pool. There is one step which is from the car parking area, just outside the back door, into the apartment. We are able to hire disability aids like shower seats and wheel chairs. Please let us know well in advance and we can have them ready for you to collect.

The Paphos District
Known as the birthplace of Aphrodite and declared a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, Paphos has much to boast about. Tourists flock to Paphos for its charming old harbour, beautiful beaches, bustling seafront promenade, and historical and archaeological riches. The resort is a particularly popular due to its relaxed atmosphere and wealth of activities.
Paphos in the summer will bring temperatures of up to 32C and it is even warmer inland. Even in autumn it can feel like summer but the evenings tend to be cooler. December and January can bring the possibility of rain but there will still be up to six hours of sunshine a day.
There are four beaches in Paphos and plenty of little rocky coves to explore. Many visitors combine Paphos beaches with Plaz beach to the south and the resort of Coral Bay 5 miles to the north. Water sports include jet skiing, snorkeling, parasailing and scuba diving.
Paphos is made up of two districts: the sea front area of Kato Paphos situated around a picturesque harbor with romantic cafes and tavernas; and the hilltop town of Pano Paphos featuring pretty narrow lanes and local shops.
In the evening, the young and active can enjoy the busy bars with live music and dance until the early hours at the various nightclubs. Those looking for a quieter evening can explore the romantic cafes and tavernas around the harbor. Families can enjoy outings to the water park and aquarium. Historical and cultural sights of interest include the Paphos Archaeological Park, Paphos Fort and St Paul’s Pillar.
Paphos has a string of Blue Flag beaches. If you fancy a sandy beach with shallow water then crescent-shaped Coral Bay is then the answer, although Plaz Beach comes a close second. Choose Geroskipou Beach for sugar-fine sands and translucent water. Relax on Pissouri’s wide, peaceful bay and swim 20 laps around nearby Aphrodite’s Rock at sunset to look 20 years younger, according to local legend!
North of Paphos, discover steep gorges, grottos and sleepy bays along the Akamas Peninsula. Glimpse the wild orchids, silvery waterfalls and tall cedars in the Troodos Mountains that rise dramatically out of Cyprus’ centre.
Marvel at the marble-and-stone Roman Mosaics of Dionysus, Orpheus and Aion at Paphos Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Doric columns frame central courtyards at the 2000-year-old Tombs of the Kings, carved out of smooth sandstone. Kids in tow? Take them to smile at the crocodiles at eco-friendly Paphos Aquarium.
Peer through binoculars at the eerie ghost town of Famagusta, abandoned during the 1974 Turkish invasion. Visit Ayia Kyriaki (Ancient Basilica), one of the world’s oldest Christian churches and take a torch to explore the subterranean Agia Solomoni Catacombs. Venture south on your Paphos holiday to the ancient remains of the Temple of Aphrodite (birthplace of the Greek goddess of love).
Pick up flavoursome halloumi (hard cheese), Lefkara lace and Pafitika embroidery from Paphos. Seek out pottery and woodwork from local villages on your Paphos holiday, plus original art works from Lemba’s quirky galleries.
