Villa | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
Cycle or walk to beach and Kato Paphos from gorgeous orchard hideaway. 10m private pool, free Wi-Fi and bicycles. This property has been finished to a high standard by the owner Lambros, whose welcoming attitude (friendly but not intrusive) and hospitality to our guests has ensured the repeat bookings here. The free range eggs and vegetables have been a big hit. The jewel in the crown is the enormous hand tiled private pool, a real touch of luxury! Now with 2 bicycles! Clients are staying here without car hire, using the buses and bicycles.
Geroskipou village is nearby and has a good selection of tavernas and bars, and a beautiful new pedestrian area near the church. The walk to the beach (800m) is easy along unmade roads. It is also possible to walk to Paphos, (1.5km) and directions will be in the villa. Atlantida Fish Taverna at 800m next to the sea, is one of the best in Paphos, and is highly recommended. On a Sunday it will be bustling with Cypriot families, and there is a small safe soft sand beach with sunloungers, and grassed children's play area. Paphos town with its interesting shops, mix of old and new, and beautiful harbour is just 5 minutes drive. Cycle to beach, village or Paphos.

We had an absolutely lovely time at the villa. The taxi service was excellent, the driver gave us lots of good recommendations for coupley restaurants and good bars for younger people.
The bicycles were extremely handy, we used them for several days to go in and do some shopping but soon decided the buses were our best bet because of the heat! The bus service was really regular to and from the harbour and the times were easily to look up on the internet. We used them every night to go for dinner and drinks and also to get to the airport on the last night.
Lambros the owner was brilliant, extremely friendly and helpful. The villa itself was more well equipped than we had even hoped for! Pool towels were labelled and there were extra towels and a washing machine. The hamper was lovely and it was good that we didnt have to get food straight away as we got in so late. I particularly liked the fact that there were so many books to read as I get through them very fast on holidays. The pool was wonderful and extremely clean.
I would definitely consider booking this villa again, and through Irene Hare at Sundance Villas. I could not have been more happy with my holiday and have already passed on recommendations to my family and friends.
My promised reply – with apologies for the delay (I tore a deltoid muscle on the way back, and have been pretty much hors de combat since).
We had a most enjoyable time in Cyprus, and at Katerina Cottage. It was clean, and so well-equipped. The hamper was super. There was a safe, hairdryer, pool towels, etc. Lambros turned up on several occasions (and we also had Alexandra!). Nicole paid an initial visit, which was useful to us newcomers.
We did enjoy our stay...our trip up the Troodos Mountains; a trip to Polis and my birthday fish meze at Ayos Georgios; the car rental; the fresh fruit to pick and eggs to collect; the pretty seamless arrangements.
No fun returning to more than 100 emails. I need another break!
All good wishes.
What a wonderful place Katerina Cottage is! Having just returned from our first vist there - although our 10th visit to Cyprus - we just have to write and say a very big thank you, and add that Katerina Cottage is in a wonderful and peaceful setting, and provides everything you need, and we have thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks there.
Also "thank you" to Nicole for her assistance - although this was only required on one occasion other than her first visit to us shortly after her arrival. We think it is a brilliant idea that your local representative can be contacted by text in the event of any queries, and you don't have to wait in for the next visit. Perhaps some of the bigger tour companies could learn from this example? We had a wonderful coach trip to Famagusta and Salamis that Nicole arranged for us, both of which are in the occupied area in the North of Cyprus. The last time we visited both of these was 40 years ago, in 1970, before the invasion. We can highly recommend that trip.
Also to Lambros the owner, who we met on a number of occasions which included his 'tour' of his Pecan plantation and showing us where we could collect fresh eggs (although we didn't take him up on that offer as I am not supposed to eat them!) and help ourselves to Pomegranates and Lemons straight from the tree. But a special "thank you" must go to him for changing the automatic light settings on the wonderful pool to enable us to have a swim around midnight to cool down before going to bed! This was indeed a real luxury!
Although we won't be coming back to Cyprus next year, as we have already made arrangements to visit our second favourite Mediterranean island, Rhodes, for our 2011 holiday, we hope to come back again in the not too distant future, and will most certainly look to coming to Katerina Cottage again.
With our thanks again, and looking forward to a future visit.

Just wanted to let you know what an amazing holiday we had again at Katerina this year. Even though it's our fifth year at the same villa we still had a perfect time thanks to you, Nicole, Lambros and CY Breeze. We actually went out one evening for our wedding anniversary with lambros and his family in the village to watch his son play Bazuki. It was an amazing night and Lambros was the perfect host as usual. Cannot thank you all enough for your hard work to make such a special holiday for us each year.

The flight itself was very good but unfortunately delayed on both the outward and return journey...they are not as efficient as you and we would like to say how pleased we were with both your service, that of Nicole in the resort and Nick from CY Breeze. We didn't need to contact anyone but everything was in place had we needed to. Everyone arrived on the Monday so we were well informed from the start and after that were left to enjoy our holiday without interruption for which we were really grateful. We would happily recommend Sundance Villas; the poster is up in work and thank you for the bottle of wine.
The villa was clean and tidy and the welcome hamper was very good, particularly as we arrived so late. Beach towels were provided which is a very useful addition. The Villa was perfectly secluded and in a peaceful location.
The pool is absolutely brilliant and we made full use of it, particularly as the temperatures continued to soar. We don't have any new recommendations; your existing list is very comprehensive and included many places we have visited before and agree with the comments.
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would happily book with you again. Considering how late we were in making the booking, everything was dealt with quickly and efficiently and because of this we enjoyed a totally relaxing and stress free week - just what we needed.

The Paphos region
Paphos, once the capital of Cyprus, is on the south western edge of the island, and well placed for excursions to all the main sights, it's quieter than the southern resorts of Larnaca and Limassol, but still offers plenty for sun-seekers, families, cultural types and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
History and culture are two of the island's big selling points, and you don't have to venture far to find them in Paphos, where the whole town is UNESCO listed.
As well as being the mythical birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite, Paphos is famous for having been visited by the apostle Paul. The town is packed with churches and ecclesiastical monuments and visitors can follow in the saint's footsteps on a religious sightseeing route.
Close to Paphos harbour is the house of Dionysos, a villa containing some of the best preserved mosaics in the Mediterranean region. Mainly depicting scenes from Greek mythology, they were accidentally discovered by a farmer ploughing his field. It's worth recommending that clients go on a guided tour to bring the mosaics to life.
With water temperatures ranging from 16C-27C, and virtually year-round sunshine, Paphos is a paradise for water sports fans. Sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, parascending, jet skiing and surfing are among the attractions on offer, and all the big resort hotels have water sports centres.
Below the surface, Cyprus boasts one of the longest diving seasons in the Mediterranean, from March until November, with exceptional conditions and crystal-clear water. Some of the best dive sites can be found off Paphos, including the remains of sunken shipwrecks.
Back on dry land, the stunning stretch of coast between Paphos and Limassol is where visitors can take the classic shot of Aphrodite's Rock, said to mark the spot where the goddess emerged from the sea.
The Baths of Aphrodite, where she relaxed after entertaining her lovers, can be found on the Akamas peninsular further west. Anyone who bathes there will supposedly be blessed with eternal youth, but it's strictly forbidden to jump in to find out if the legend has any truth in it.
Paphos is at its liveliest at night, when the bars, restaurants and clubs bring together tourists and locals of all ages.
Strike out in any direction from Paphos and, within a few miles, you'll find long stretches of sandy beaches, rugged hills and rolling countryside.
Some of the most popular hiking trails can be found in the Troodos Mountains, an hour's drive from Paphos, including several easy marked paths and circular routes. The Troodos also provide some of the most spectacular scenery for cyclists, but you need plenty of gears and energy to get up the long hills. For a less tiring option, mountain bikes can be hired at visitor centres.
People are often surprised to discover they can ski in Cyprus. The Troodos slopes are normally open from the beginning of January to the end of March, and it's a novel experience to ski in the morning and sunbathe in the afternoon. Cyprus is also gaining popularity as a golfing destination. Tsada, the island's first course, is 15 minutes from Paphos, and Secret Valley is 25 minutes from the town.
Cyprus is one of the world's oldest wine-producing countries with a winemaking history dating back to at least 2,000 BC. We will send you lots of info on wines and eating out
Geroskipou is the last village coming from the airports towards Paphos. The area is agricultural and many sports facilities are located here as development is highly restricted. It is most unusual to find such a high quality cottage within a pecan nut grove. Geroskipou village is traditional and bustling, and has a beautiful renovated stone square next to the 5 domed church. And it's walking distance for most.
Beach/sea: 800m, Bar/Cafe on beach: 800m, Minimarket: 1.6km, Restaurant: 800m, Water Park: 500m, Mini Golf: 1km, Lunar Park for children: 800m, Horse riding: 1km, Paphos/Kato Paphos: 1.5km, Yeroskipou village square: 1.6km, Secret Valley Golf Course: 18km, Aphrodite Hills Golf Course: 18km, Tsada Golf Course: 9km.

"No more hotels and shared pools for us!"
I was always hesitant to book a private villa, but this was so easy, and we were reassured by Irene who had endless patience with us as 1st time villa renters. We could not believe our eyes when we arrived. It was perfect, and the pool all to ourselves, and what a pool, we could swim properly, which was fantastic. This area is close to Paphos, the beach and the village. The surroundings are rural, and water park, football, horse riding etc all very close by. I have never been so relaxed on holiday. We can't wait to return :D
