15 minutes from Langkawi International Airport is a small piece of paradise. SangRia is a well kept secret in Pantai Tengah on the south western part of the island. You drive through an indistinct yellow lane near the Frangipani Resort & Spa where it shares the same beach. The house that towers over a well kept garden of tall trees and well kept greenery is made of bricks and meranti and designed in a fashion that honours Malay Architecture. SangRia caters to the class conscious as every nook and corner is decorated with objects of art. The most pampering is it's luxury sunken-bath in the master bedroom. There are three bedrooms, 1 en-suite bathroom, 1 common bathroom, living room, kitchenette & dining terrace on the ground floor. The first floor consists of another bedroom and a sitting/relaxing balcony overlooking the ocean. Just 100 metres from the beach, your senses will be overwhelmed by the muted sound of the waves as you sit in SangRia's garden, surrounded by flowers and trees of a myriad colours. A quiet lily pond rests on its right where you could even watch monitor lizards swimming in the pond on a clear day. Perfect for a romantic getaway, SangRia's large garden has also been the venue of birthday parties, corporate functions and other themed events.

The Langkawi Island region

Pantai Tengah area

The water temperatures range from 18°C in May to 26°C through out the year making the island ideal for all sorts of watersports, including waterskiing, jetskiing, sailing, windsurfing, parasailing and bananaboat.

CLIMATE & WEATHER ON LANGKAWI
From January to April the weather in Langkawi is hot and dry. In these months temperature rises up to over 32°C and with water temperatures of 25°C - 27°C, beach fans are right in their element. From May to November the average daytime temperature is about 28°C.

How to get there

By Road
Visitors travelling by road have to drive to Kuala Kedah or Kuala Perlis on the north-western coast of Peninsular Malaysia, the main take-off points by ferry to Langkawi. The journey from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Kedah takes about six hours while Kuala Perlis is an additional hour away. Car parking facilities are available at both jetties.
By Air
The Langkawi International Airport at Padang Matsirat is about 20km from Kuah and 8km from the beach resorts on Pantai Cenang. Direct air services from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi are provided by Malaysia Airlines and Air Asia on a daily basis. Silk Air flies four times a week from Singapore to the island.
By Rail
Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) or Malayan Railway provides comfortable and economical rail services from Kuala Lumour to Alor Setar in Kedah and Arau in Perlis. From Alor Setar or Arau, you can take a taxi or bus to Kuala Kedah or Kuala Perlis respectively and then proceed by ferry to Langkawi.
By Sea
Ferry Services Express ferries provide regular services daily to Langkawi from both Kuala Kedah and Kuala Perlis. The journey to Langkawi from Kuala Kedah and Kuala Perlis takes 1 hour 15 minutes and 45 minutes respectively.The journey from Penang to Langkawi by ferry takes about 2 hours 30 minutes.
Cruises
A novel way to take a holiday to Langkawi is by cruise ship. Cruises are of varying duration depending on the ports of en route to Langkawi. Embarkation points are at Port Klang and Singapore.
Car Hire
Car hire is available from the airport, jetty-point or locally at Pantai Tengah (contact owner for special local deals).

New house, built less than a year, tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard. All the bedrooms in the house are fully air-conditioned with ceiling fan through-out the house for additional comfort. The most pampering is it's luxury sunken bath in the master bedroom.

Dining Terrace
Overlooking the lush green garden, the dining table on the terrace sits up to 8 people. In-house menu which includes fine food & wine is available upon request.
Lounge/Living Room
The lounge area is a perfect place to relax and unwind while watching variety of films through the satellite channels (HBO, Star Movie, Cine, BBC, CNN, AXN, Discovery etc). For book lovers, there are good selection of books on various topics in the living room.
Kitchen
The kitchenette area has fitted cupboards and worktops, fridge & freezer, microwave and kettle.
Master bedroom (Ground floor)
Spacious with king-size bed, air-conditioned, ceiling fan with en-suite bathroom complete with sunken-bath & shower.
2nd bedroom (Ground Floor)
Furnished with a comfortable queen size four-poster bed, antic wardrobe, air-conditioned, ceiling fan with shared bathroom & shower.
3rd bedroom (Ground Floor)
Tastefully decorated with 2 single four-poster beds covered with luxury linen. The window in this bedroom opens to the sea with shared bathroom & shower.
4th bedroom (1st Floor)
Biggest room in the house with a king-size bed, air-conditioned and ceiling fan. The door of the bedroom opens out to a breath-taking sea-view balcony overlooking the lush green garden.
Bathrooms
Both bathrooms are stupendous with a European size toilet bowl and are fitted with hot and cold water shower. The washing place is a tall bowl with a fanciful faucet to go with it. Extra luxury in the en-suite bathroom is the most pampering sunken-bath.

Daily cleaning and linen change at the end of your holiday are included in the price. Beach towels are provided. A deposit of 50% is required on booking and the balance payable 8 weeks prior to departure, or immediately if booking is made within 8 weeks of departure date. A refundable security deposit equivalent to 1 night rate per week stay is required against breakages and damage which will be refunded within 10 days of check-out date providing our agent has found everything to be in order after checking the house inventory.
