SangRia is a breathtaking and unique sanctuary located on a long stretch of pristine beach. A large, luxurious two-storey villa tastefully designed in a contemporary Malaysian style, it is set within a lush garden on Pantai Tengah. It has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a kitchenette, a living room and 2 verandahs. In the Malay language, Ria means "joy" and Sang means "the one". SangRia is hence "the joyful one".
This self-catering villa, although near restaurants, cafes and shops, is peaceful and secluded. It accommodates 8 people comfortably and is a home-away-from-home. Perfect for couples, families, groups of friends or corporate bookings.

There are two large master bedrooms each with a king-size bed, one upstairs and one downstairs. Both are luxuriously decorated en-suite rooms with high ceilings made of stripped woven bamboo. The third bedroom has a four-poster queen-size bed and the fourth bedroom has two single four-poster beds. The flooring is made of high-grade timber throughout. The furniture and furnishings are of a premium quality and made from a combination of Asian woods, wicker, jute, cottons and silks. All the bathrooms are tastefully designed, combining modern fittings with exotic touches.

Spend the day swimming or watching the world go by from your deck chair on the beach. You can also take a scenic walk on the beach, instead of on the roadside, to reach other parts of Pantai Tengah.

Conditions
• A 50% booking deposit and the breakages deposit must be paid by bank transfer to secure your reservation. The amount is not inclusive of bank charges. The balance is to be paid 8 weeks before arrival, or immediately if booking is made within 8 weeks of arrival date. Bookings are on a 1st come with deposit 1st served basis.
• Any cancellation received within 8 weeks prior to arrival date will incur 2 nights' charge. Any cancellation received within 6 weeks prior to arrival date will incur 50% of the total reservation. Any cancellation received within 4 weeks prior to arrival date are non-refundable.
• A refundable breakages deposit of RM1000 is required, which will be refunded upon check-out provided there are no breakages/damages to the property.
• Check-in is at 3pm. Check-out is at 11am.
• No smoking except in the garden.
• Microwave cooking only.
The Langkawi Island region
Langkawi Island is a breathtaking archipelago of 99 islands (5 extra temporary islands are revealed at low tide) in the Andaman Sea, 30 km off the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia and adjacent to the Thai border.
In 2007, Langkawi Island was granted a World Geological Park status by UNESCO. It has been especially identified for its geological, archaeological and ecological heritage. The rock formations that abound in the archipelago have been estimated to be in the range of 400-500 million years old. Three of its main conservation area in Langkawi Geopark are Mat Chincang Mountain, Kilim Park and Pulau Dayang Bunting (Island of the Pregnant Maiden). These three parks are among the most popular nature attractions on Langkawi Island; the other being the Black Sand Beach.

Car hire is not essential to get around the Pantai Tengah area itself, but you will need to hire a car if you want to see other parts of the island.

We have been to SangRia twice, and would love to stay again. The location of the property was superb. The villa was beautifully decorated with big spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. We loved the way the villa has been designed in a Malaysian style, but also has beautiful modern and contemporary decor inside. The villa was big and had lots of space for our family to get away from each other and have some "time-out". The beautiful garden was great for running around - kids loved it! The beach was lovely, most importantly we felt was safe for the kids. Excellent service - friendly and helpful. We had a completely amazing and relaxing time, and would definitely recommend this place to anyone - England

Our group of 8 was looking for a different way to experience Langkawi (away from the usual hotel/resort holidays), got a pleasant surprise when we checked into SangRia. This well-kept luxurious villa is a hidden gem & we wonder why it does not receive the publicity it deserves. Situated right next to Frangipani, I would say if you're travelling with a group & you prefer a close-knit togetherness, SangRia is certainly way above Pelangi/Berjaya/Mutiara and their likes. Quick advise would be to rent a Nissan Serena or a Toyota Innova from the airport and drive your way to SangRia. Kuah town is appx 25 min away but you don't really need to get into town if you're going to Langkawi for what the island has to offer. We recommend dinner at Pantai Kok and night entertainment at Eagle Rock at Awana. A 3-hr sunset cruise adds a memorable experience to your holiday. A jewel awaits to surprise you - Malaysia

We stayed at SangRia for just over two weeks in Feb 2010 and it was wonderful. Utter paradise! The owners really make you feel at home - they use the phrase 'home away from home' and it's spot on! The house itself is absolutely beautiful - lovely wooden floors, loads of space, all you'll need to prepare your own breakfast / lunch and the open air bathroom upstairs was fab (especially when it rained!). The gardens are amazing and the beach is probably a 30 second walk away - all very private and very secure (I don't think we locked a door for the entire time we were away!). The couple who look after you during your stay are wonderful too - take such good care of you - alongside changing bedding / towels regularly, they also keep you constantly refreshed on the beach with fresh fruit juices and ice cold flannels every afternoon at about 3pm (and the occasional ice lolly!) - you come away feeling totally spoilt, totally refreshed and totally relaxed. Can't recommend SangRia enough. We hope to be back - England
We had a great time in this beautiful well maintained house and garden in November 2010. The short walk to the beach on the private path was the most exercise I got apart from chasing my son on the wide beach at low tide! The caretakers took great care of us providing refreshing drinks and of course the usual cleaning etc. I read three books and had a great relaxing time with my wife and son. It perfectly fulfilled our wishes. Around the house in nearby Pantai Tengah is lots to do w.r.t. organised day trips, shopping, dining and other fun. Have dinner at Sheela's across the road. We will be back! - The Netherlands
We had a wonderful time at Sangria in March 2011. It is a beautiful house and the kids loved the garden and beach. Extremely helpful and warm people. I was so happy to see that an island like Langkawi has not been consumed by the heavy tourism seen over the last 20 years to a number of the Thai islands. The island is truly beautiful and the people even more so. I am sure we will be back without a doubt. We look forward to returning soon - England
