The Pirin/Rhodope Mountains region
The small village of Stoikite is situated 5km south of Shiroka Luka in the western part of the Rhodope Mountains. Pamporovo / Stoikite area
Pamporovo is the pearl of the Bulgarian mountain resorts, and nestles in the heart of the Rhodope Mountains, 260 km from the capital Sofia, and 85 km south of the city of Plovdiv. It is close to the Greek border, and is the southern-most ski resort in Europe. In the summer, Pamporovo is a major walking centre for Bulgaria.
