A delightful two bedroom beamed cottage that sleeps 5. It is fully equipped, has private parking and rockery garden, there is a superb viewpoint and picnic terrace which overlooks the gorges of the viaur river. A woodland area below has a trampoline, swing and play area for children. For season 2008 we have two puppy dogs who the children will love to play with! There will also be (pending completion) exclusive use of a games room opposite the cottage with table football and darts.
Chill out by the heated swimming pool which is accessible to cottage guests during daytime hours. Sunbeds are provided exclusively for you so you never have to reserve any! Take one of the marked walks that start directly from the property, all in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The cottage is managed by English speaking owners who are on site. Uniquely Ararat is a green holiday. The site has solar power, solar hot water and pool heating, and emissions are offset by investments into renewable energy projects. The Midi-Pyrenees / Tarn region
The Tarn is an area of outstanding natural beauty with winding gorges, steep hills and woodland. The climate is hot, dry and sunny in the summer and cold and dry in the winter. The area is surrounded by Bastide towns (walled, medieval towns) which contain a rich history and have retained much of their orginial character. Access throught the area is good as roads are well developed.
Pampelonne area
Pampelonne is one of those sleepy French villages you drive through and wonder whether or not it is in fact deserted! However, the village does offer ecxellent local facilities such as an English speaking restaurant and Bar, village shop, boulangerie, Post Office and Pharmacy. The village doctor is always at hand can generally see anyone should the need arise within a short waiting period.

Further details indoors: The cottage consists of two bedrooms, bathroom, lounge and kitchen area. There is a fridge, microwave, TV, DVD and video player with outside tiled terrace eating area and BBQ. A large DVD library is available to loan free of charge with over 550 dvd's!
The area is surrounded by numerous local woodland walks which range from 1-4hrs and are suitable for all the family. The solar heated pool is available every day and private sun loungers are provided. The Viaur river is just 1km away and is perfect for those who enjoy fishing or canoing! Dogs are accepted without charge only by pre-arrangement.
Pampelonne Village is 5 minutes drive and has shops and a Restaurant. Games and some toys (mostly for girls) are also provided in the cottage. Ararat has a solar powered weather station and provides up to date weather reports on request.
Further details outdoors: There is a superb viewpoint terrace for picnics or just hanging out. Nestled between tall pines there is a woodland play area that has a swing, trampoline and play house with a shaded hammock for simply lazing around or cooling off. There is a delightful solar heated outdoor pool with personal sun beds and a large decking area. The Pool area situated in the garden (not directly in front of the cottage) and as there are no other gites or cottage on the site guests have exclusive use of the pool.
New for Season 2008 guests have exclusive access to a games lounge directly opposite the cottage (solar powered of course) with table football and darts. An ideal hideaway for the kids or grown up teenagers!
The views are outstanding and even though the property is quite isolated facilities are located within 10-15 minutes drive.
Local holiday facilities include Cap Decouverte 20 minutes - large complex with beaches, toboggan run, ski lifts, outdoor pool. Espace Atlantis - mutlipool complex 30 minutes. Cordes sur ciel - Bastide town with superb restaurants etc. Local lake beach, 15 minutes. Plan de L'eau de Roucarie -man made beach and lake for dog walking and recreational activities.
