Home description
The villa is a 3 storey, semi-detached, 3 bedroom house with wonderful views over the lush fertile Emporda Valley in which the beautiful village of Pals is situated. It is one of a group of 10 properties that share a pool and garden area close to the beaches. The area has an excellent selection of restaurants, bars and supermarkets making this location very convenient. There are 7 golf courses within a short drive of the villa, all of which offer challenging sport for the experienced while also providing extremely pleasurable golf for the high handicap player. There are many historical sites museums and art treasures to enjoy - the nearby medieval village of Old Pals, the Dali museum at Figueras and the Roman and Greek ruins at Empuria. This is an up-market area with no high rise developments and is frequented mainly by Spanish from Barcelona, French, Dutch and English who all come for the lovely beaches, watersports including scuba diving, boating and fishing, great cuisine and the golf.

The Costa Brava/Catalonia region
ABOUT THE AREA
The Villa is situated in Sa Punta, Platja de Pals. The Costa Brava is one of Spain's best-kept secrets. This rugged coastline extends northeast of Barcelona to the French border. The coast here is scenic and rugged, with coves, cliffs, and mountain-top lookouts. Picturesque towns and villages such as Pals, Llafranc, Cadaques, Calella de Palafrugell and Port Lligat can be found all along the Costa Brava, as well as the Greek and Roman ruins of Empuries.
The best parts of the Costa Brava are still truly beautiful, with the northerly stretch dotted with perfect small beaches in rocky coves surrounded by pine clad hills. Strictly speaking the Costa Brava runs out at Blanes, a few miles north of Barcelona but, as do most people, we include Barcelona.
Because of the rugged coast, the region hasn't seen anywhere near the mass of new developments that have sprung up in the Costa Blanca and Costa del Sol and being only an hour or so from the resorts in the South of France, the Costa Brava is a lot closer to the rest of mainland Europe.
The Catalan cuisine is, no doubt, one of the most outstanding in Spain. The cuisine is based on a mixture of the land and the sea, of the sweet and the salty.
The Costa Brava boasts excellent sporting facilities including cycling, hand-gliding, parachuting, horse riding, hiking and golf. There are also watersports available at the numerous yacht clubs and marinas. Windsurfing, water skiing, sailing and diving to name but a few. An abundance of museums can be found throughout the Costa Brava, perhaps the most famous being the Salvador Dali museum in Figueres, which attracts hundreds of visitors daily, his home in nearby Cadaques is also well worth a visit.

GOLF ON THE COSTA BRAVA Golfers have discovered on the Costa Brava, a destination with many golf courses open all year round, with a Mediterranean climate and very mild temperatures which helps the courses remain in perfect condition. Quality, variety and the spectacular are featured in courses. The course styles are varied including links, parkland layouts which are often lined with impressive pines, cork and oak trees, whilst others include water hazards and large undulating greens. The environment has provided this area with a privileged landscape, where golf courses have been perfectly adapted and carefully respected the environment around them.
Driving ranges have been perfectly prepared for those who want to take up with this wonderful game. Several driving ranges have more than 100 practice bays, as well as pitching and putting greens.... and most of them are pleased to welcome groups bringing their own teaching pro to make the most of the winter season on the Costa Brava. Maybe, this is another reason why the European PGA has decided to establish their first PGA course in Spain close to Girona, in the heart of the Costa Brava. The PGA Golf de Catalunya is unquestionably the "jewel in the crown". In addition to this, other courses such as Pals, Emporda and Peralada have hosted the PGA Pre-Qualifying School II, in the last 6 years.
Courses: PGA Golf of Catalunya, Peralada Golf Club, Torremirona Golf Club, Pals Golf Club, Emporda Golf Club, Girona Golf Club, Serres de Pals Golf, Costa Brava Golf Club, D Aro Golf Club

Dear Michael,
Many thanks for the deposit cheque returned. We had a great time at your property in August. Letting agents were very helpful – drove us actually to the house and let us in – very helpful when you’ve had a long drive + just want to get there without getting lost. The house itself was immaculate. The kitchen was so well equipped – lovely for those who enjoy cooking. Also, the dvd’s were thoroughly enjoyed by our 2 teenage children – plus of course the pool. Our favourite place to visit was Begur – where they had dancing in the square at night.
Thanks again, Tracey

Dear Michael and Karen
We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our holiday in Pals recently, and in particular your villa, which was very comfortable, spacious and nicely decorated. The view from the balcony was stunning and we enjoyed several glorious sunsets. The weather was fantastic despite the spectacular storm as we landed in Girona - hailstones and 2" of rain on the tarmac. Our children loved the pool. We hope we left everything in good order.
Regards Sue & Frank

We returned sunday evening to wet and cold England after almost 3 weeks of good weather. My wife and I would like to say that we we very much enjoyed our stay and thought the Villa excellent, especially with the pool so close by. Perhaps you could keep us on your mailing list and contact us with any new developments or special offers!

Dear Michael
Thankyou for returning my deposit cheque so promptly. Sorry I've taken so long to reply I've been rushed off my feet at work recently.
With regard your question concerning my opinion its perhaps best if I describe it as if I was telling a unconnected friend then you get a frank and honest assessment.
Well Ray I found the directions to the villa impossible to follow it would have been so much easier if the owner had said take the signs for each major towns and then when you arrive on the outskirts of Pals take the sign for Pals beach. As you enter pals beach resort look out for Chinese restaurant with a large conservatory on the road frontage turn right opposite the restaurant (theres a letting agency on the corner) and follow the road up the hill turning left at the first junction. Follow the winding road up the hill and then turn right drive along this road for about 150metres you will see large beige coloured houses in front of you follow the road around and there a large pink house on the corner. The villa is situated on the same side of the road 60 metres from the pink house. You see the roofs of the villas which are level roughly with the road as you approach them.
On gaining access to the Villa you get a pleasant surprise its built on 3 levels there is a well equipped kitchen diner with microwave and dishwasher the lounge is very spacious and it leads onto a large veranda which has spectacular views over the hillside and the swimming pool below. The pool was cleaned regularly when we were there and the grass was watered regularly it was pleasant and nicely secluded. I didn't think the owners photographs on the internet did the villa justice it is substantially larger inside that the impression given by the photos. There are 3 good sized bedrooms one en-suite and a further separate bathroom. All bedrooms have pleasant window views. It was well equipped, clean and tidy. I would definitely consider going there again as a week just wasn't sufficient time to see everything in the area, however it is essential to have a car to get around fortunately the owner left a map and information pack which was very helpful for finding my way around.
Hope you are well and dont take offence. Best wishes cheers Nigel

Dear Michael,
Thanks for your message. We had a wonderful time in Sa Punta. The children loved the pool and used it every day and we thought the apartment itself was perfect for our needs as a family. It was clean and very well presented when we arrived, and well furnished with everything we needed. We especially appreciated the stunnning views from the balcony, in particular the sunsets. The only slight difficulty we had was with the access to and from the parking space with a large family car.
The information pack you sent us was very useful, however the directions given from the airport to Sa Punta would benefit from the inclusion of some road numbers. The walk into Sa Punta itself was easily manageable by our five- and six-year olds, although they found the walk to Sa Riera a little harder. Both beaches (Pals and Sa Riera) were great and had their own distinctive features. If we had to opt for a favourite it would be Sa Riera. We also enjoyed visiting Pals (the old town), Figueres and managed a trip into Barcelona.
All in all we had a fantastic holiday and would recommend both the apartment and the area to anyone looking to visit the Costa Brava. Please feel free to use our comments on your website.
Best regards
Gerry and Louise
