Centrally located in the heart of Palma's Old Town this designer apartment is an exquisite open plan penthouse property designed by one of the most famous firm of architects in Spain. The property will be finished to the same level of luxury as our house in Deia which has been extremely popular since launch in 2012 ( see property reference no. 205089 - Dream Village House). Current photos are of the unfurnished apartment - which will be luxuriously furnished and fitted out in May 2014. The Palma apartment is a unique living space flooded with natural light and has a living area of 60sqm including luxury PRIVATE terrace for the sole use of our guests. Our terrace is totally private and enjoys all day sunshine, The apartment is luxuriously furnished and has 1 bedroom and one bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and living room with spectacular architectural features and double height ceilings. The full width window located at one end of the apartment gives direct access through glazed door to the private terrace from the living and bedroom areas and benefits from air conditioning. Once inside you will find yourself in an oasis of calm above the busy streets below. The second bed is a sofabed which can be made into a double bed.

The apartment was totally refurbished in 2014 with five star, fixtures and fittings and luxury accessories - Wi-Fi throughout - including on the terrace, Ipod station, latest 46" flat screen wall mounted satellite TV with english channels and Apple TV and could not be better located. Everything you could require for a comfortable stay is here and all essentials are right on your doorstep. This is one of the most popular areas of the island, because of its location and its historical character.

The apartment is located in a peaceful yet thriving area in the midst of the gothic centre of Palma. The shopping, cultural and leisure hub of the city is all around you. Cafes, restaurants, and all types of shops are literally seconds from the property, and you will find a large supermarket in Plaza Mayor, a 2 minute stroll away, where you will also find underground parking. Should you wish to explore this beautiful island, this property offers all the convenience you could wish for.

Also minutes away by foot the medieval Sa Calatrava neighbourhood has a rich history, with narrow streets winding this way and that. It's right next to the city's most interesting sights, of the ancient and religious kind - from the Jewish quarter and Arab baths to the remarkable cathedral that took 500 years to build - plus great shopping of the modern kind on the Passeig d'es Born ( the Bond Street of Palma ) is but a 2 minute stroll away.

Palma's Old Town has a superb sea front location with impressive cathedral, marina and sandy beaches a short walk from the apartment. There are a plethera of beach clubs to choose from, Anima Beach being only a 10 minute walk away. Set on the coastal road leading to Portixol, against the impressive backdrop of Palma Cathedral - and boasting uninterrupted views to the sea, Anima Beach is the only urban beach club in Mallorca. And what a beach club! Great for lunch or dinner, the restaurant offers a beautiful terrace and sunbathing area with Balinese beds and lounge chairs, and is sought after for its chilled out ambiance of relaxation and comfort which caters for the contemporary lifestyle in a most unique setting. Also try Mood beach club, Puro Beach club and Nassau beach club all within 10km of Palma.

The Mallorca/Majorca region

There are many fiestas and celebrations throughout the year in Palma, from art nights in the streets, book fairs on Borne, to medieval events, firework displays and outdoor music, literary and even an international beer festival. The festival of the Kings which takes place at Christmas time is not to be missed.

Palma hosts several international sailing and cycling events ( many of the Tour de France cycling teams can be seen during their winter training on the island - and King Juan Carlos, the King of Spain together with Prince Philip competes in an annual regatta in the bay whilst the royal family holiday in Palma each summer ).

The famous Palma International Boat Show takes place annually in May.

A fun event called "Routa Martiana" is held each tuesday evening close to the apartment when all the tapas bars are open offering tapas with beer or wine for 1.50 euros each

We recommend a day excursion aboard the famous old steam train which departs from the central train station and journeys through beautiful and dramatic scenery to the NW village of Soller. This was the old 'oranges' route, built to bring the fruit to the port of Palma when Soller was a major orange exporter. On arrival in Soller you can catch the old wooden trams to the Port de Soller and unwind on the lovely beaches, or take a taxi and visit the beautiful unspoilt village of Deia

Palma

This apartment is located in one of the most popular streets in the centre of Palma's Old Town, which is inside the Old Town city walls. We are approx 50 metres from the famous Plaza Mayor and around the corner from the Town Hall of Palma. Cafe society, restaurants, tapas bars, all types of shopping - from essentials ( supermarket beneath Plaza Mayor ), department stores ( El Corte Ingles close by ) to designer boutiques on Paseo de Borne ( a stroll away ). The famous El Olivar fresh food market is also a few winding streets away. Fancy fresh croissants and ground coffee for breakfast? Lots of choice, perhaps a visit to Cappuccinos - 1 min stroll.

All historical sights, palaces, museums, art galleries, famous squares, the stunning Cathedral La Seu, the Port, the huge marina and several beaches are all within walking distance.

Also close by are the central bus and train stations with regular connections to nearby beaches resorts and many interesting locations. There is a fast bus which connects the airport to Plaza Espana, although we recommend taking a taxi from the airport which takes 10 mins and costs around 18 euros. Ferrys leave from the Port to the other Balearic islands as well as places like Barcelona further afield.
