A lovely apartment for both families and couples(sorry no single same sex groups),a home from home, situated on the 2nd floor,.(no lift available) 2 double bedrooms. (1 en -suite) ,the other double with separate shower room. Each bedroom has a portable electric fan....Fully equipped kitchen,with utility room,washing machine,iron and ironing board. Large lounge with 2 leather settees, sky tv and dvd. Dining area.

The balcony benefits from the sun from mid morning until late into the evening. The gardens are exceptionally well presented, there is a beautiful swimming pool with separate children's pool,however should you wish to sit on the beach,a 2 minute walk will take you to a small secluded cove,where there's an excellent restaurant and bar for lunch and snacks.
Across from the apartment is a small shopping area with a fantastic supermarket for all your needs that is open from 9am-9pm.Just outside the complex is a small collection of restaurants and bars should you want to eat nearer to home or a short stroll to Palma Nova offers a wide variety to choose from .

"very very nice"
The apartment is very well presented and clean and has a nice southerly aspect with a view over the peaceful, delightful gardens and pool from the balcony. The master bedroom window with floor to ceiling double doors and a Juliet balcony is especially delightful. The fact the apartment is on a dual track road is of no consequence as one is only vaguely aware of traffic noise from the kitchen. The grounds at night are well lit, peaceful and very welcoming when returning from the restaurants. To be able to sit out on the quiet balcony with a glass of wine or coffee made in the perfectly adequate holiday home kitchen is a lovely way to end the day. We travel a lot and have always used 4 star hotels and this apartment more than matches many of them (the only thing missing from not using an hotel is the buzz of the lobby but is more than made up by having all british tv channels instead of just bbc world and "your own place to relax" rather than just a bedroom and, this is important, no morning rush to beat the German towel throwers for sun chairs!!).
Please do not hesitate to book this apartment ; you will not be disappointed.
The apartment is in a fantastic position in which to explore the best of Mallorca (which is the south west corner) :
We had hired a cheap car at the airport and went to our usual haunts of Valledemosa (where Michael Douglas and C Z Jones have a fantastic place), Deia (where Andrew Lloyd Webber has his second home and Bob Geldof) and Soller. Incidentally I mention these celebrities only to point out with their vast wealth they could live anywhere but choose Mallorca because it is so very special up in the mountains. If you do go to Deia you really must have a nose around the hotel La Residencia (see google) which was owned by a certain Mr R Branson. It is a truly an hotel that exudes an understated elegance. Have a coffee there if you can afford it! (5 euros but hey that's what's life for!) If you drive from Valledemosa to Deia you will take the mountain coast road with its fabulous views on a sunny day where you can park and take in the wonderful views…truly inspiring. If you have a car and in Soller you must go to go on to (some say) the prettiest village in all Spain ;.Fornalutxt. (If you are rushed for time choose Fornalutx rather than Port de Soller)
( On another day if you are thinking about going down the twisty road to Sa Calobra I suggest you don't as it is a long way, very hairy and touristy at the bottom). The beach is nothing to write home about either.)
Go to Palma, (which is only 15 mins by car from the apartment) and then by the bottom of the Cathedral steps (to see fabulous guitarists for free such as the brilliant Miriano Miranda (see utube) and Alejandro Possetto ; a true delight for lovers of flamenco/classical guitar music. To the west of the Cathedral are beautiful fountains (reminds me of The Alhambra in Granada). In the evening try and eat out in the old town (just west of the Cathedral), soak up the atmosphere with a glass of wine in the square called Placa Llotja. You absolutely must search out Abacco !00 yards from Placa Llotja in the old town, on Calle San Juan, (think Tobacco to help you remember) and take a peak inside...absolutely truly amazing. Go for a stroll up Passeig des Born, Palma de Mallorca; famous tree lined avenue with shops, cafes & entertainments..3 mins from Cathedral then on to Placa Major.
Back to Son Caliu and the ideally placed apartment ... a really good suggestion if you want to splash out a little go to Puerto Portals (Portals Nous) (the apartment is situated midway between Palma Nova and Puerto Portals) and to wonderful Cappachinos (there is one in Palma Nova also) for a drink.. It is a 5 min drive to the port (a very few euros by taxi?) on the harbour front and see the Ferrari's, Lambo's and Rolls Royce's and multi million pound yachts (yes that's where all the bankers and your and our money went folks) then head back to Palma Nova for the meals as they are very very expensive in Puerto Portals. If you don't go to Portals Nous you will miss out an experience just a mile or so away.
After a few days at the apartment we both began to wish it was our holiday home. My mum and Dad were right when they said I should have worked hard at school then I wouldn't have to rent but I could buy such a nice place as this set in such a very nice pleasant complex.

"Had the most relaxing holiday ever"
Me my husband,daughter,son in law and 2 year old granddaughter have just returned from sol y vida,we had a lovely time.Apartment was lovely and spotless,it had everything you needed.The pool and grounds were really lovely too.Located right across the road from a large supermarket and there was a small selection of bars and restaurants on your door step.Was in easy walking distance into palmanova and there was also a small beach a few minutes walk away.Had a really relaxing time and no need to get up at 5 am to get sunbeds
as there four sunbeds solely for your use.

We stayed in this fabulous apartment in Aug 2011 for a family holiday. The apartment was first rate with all the amenities, excellent pool and easy access to the beaches. The location was superb, the grounds were well cared for and lush,generally quite but well serviced by a supermarket minutes from the apartment ,bus and taxi ranks also close by.
Would recommend this to a friend and would definitely think about returning.
