The Tenerife region
Tenerife is a Spanish island and is the largest of the 7 Canary Islands. Located of the coast of Africa, Santa Cruz is the capital of the island, it has a diverse climate and landscape, and is often referred to as the mini-continent. The northern coast is rugged and bordered by steep cliffs, but the southern part of the island slopes down to the coastal plains in the volcanic island of the Archipelago. This is the main reason that tourist flock to the region.

With 4 fabulous golf courses in the south of Tenerife and a ideal climate it is not suprising that Tenerife is one of the most popular golfing destinations in Europe. Palm Mar has several Bars and Restaurants that offer a friendly atmosphere, and wonderful food. For Shopaholics you:ll find plenty of bargains in Tenerife. There are several popular brand names selling here for a fraction of highstreet prices in the Uk, Tenerife wines are very well respected and reasonably priced and there are a number of specialist items and handicrafts that make great gifts.
Another thing Tenerife is Famous for is the Carnival which is held each year in February and March, For those who miss this extrordinary spectacle, there is no end of other fiestas and romerias throughtout the year, In La Oratave fabulous carpets made of flower petals and coloured salt line the streets only to be destroyed by the procession a few hours later.
There are Water Parks and Culteral Parks, The breathtaking wild bird show at parque de Aguilas really should not be missed, Parque de Aguilas also offers an obstacle course whichwill kepp the kids happy for ages. Loro Parque in Puerto de la Cruz with its colourful parrots, the worlds largest penquinarium and fabulous tropical gardens is a must!
We are a short Drive away from Los Cristionos which has a aray of shops and restaurants, the Market day is Sunday and starts at 8.30, which should not be missed.
As Well as general sightseeing there are excursions and tours to fit every taste and age group, You can take a cultural guided walking tour of Santa Cruz, or go out the open sea to watch dophins and whales, thrill seekers can enjou the exciting bungy high jumps at sky park or take the cable car up to the top of Teide-Tenerifes very own Volcano
The Mysterious Pyramides de Guimar make another fasinating day out, The atmosphere there is calming and very peaceful and you can"t help but leave ther area rested
