About the home

Rossignol is a lovely little house, perfect for a relaxing holiday for a small family or 2 couples plus a baby, in a rural and peaceful setting.

It is newly renovated and is fully equiped for an easy self catering holiday. With two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large open plan living area, it stands in it's own secure garden with swimming pool, patio area and parking.

Rossignol has a lovely large open salon area, where there is a log fire place with sofas and armchairs, and a dining table for up to 8 people. This leads through to the fully equiped kitchen, with everything you need for your culinary delights! There is a washing machine and dishwasher as well as a large fridge freezer and microwave.

Following through from the kitchen there are two bedrooms (one twin, one double), with one en-suite bathroom and one separate shower room, both with WC.

The swimming pool is located directly out of the patio doors, measuring 10 x 4 meters, it is the same depth throughout and is alarmed for safety. The patio offers a fabulous sun trap for almost the whole day, with a pergola area at the end of the pool for more shaded relaxation. There is a dining table located on the patio with an umbrella for shade. A large garden sits in front of the patio and swimming pool, with parking for two cars and a washing line.

Electricity: The cost of all electricity is included in the weekly rental.
Gas: The hob uses bottled gas. There is a reserve bottle.
Telephone: The use of a telephone is available, with calls charged at cost plus a share of the rental.
Linen: A full linen service is provided. You will only need to bring your own swimming towels. There is an extra cost for sheet change after 1 week.
Maintenance: Included in the price is all swimming pool maintenance.
A weekly cleaning service for the house can be arranged at an additional cost.
The house is managed by an English speaking couple who can be contacted easily.
We hold an account with Brittany Ferries which gives our guests a 10% discount.

Conditions

We prefer if possible LETTINGS to be from Saturday 4pm to Saturday 10am.

A returnable damage deposit of £100 will be collected with a 25% deposit of the final holiday cost at the time of booking, with the balance due 60 days prior to arrival at the house.

Smoking is not permitted inside the house.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region

The Dordogne region of south-west France is one of the most beautiful and popular destinations in the country.

It boasts a wonderful climate, beautiful countryside, ancient history, plenty of activities, wine tasting and above all a total relaxing holiday.

The Palisse area

Palisse is a small hamlet set amongst beautiful French countryside between the towns of Aubettere and Riberac. Aubeterre has a river beach, tennis, canoeing and many good restaurants. Riberac is famous for it’s fantastic Friday morning markets that spread through most of the town. Not to be missed! Petit Bersac is our nearest main village with both a post office and a Boulangerie. There is an excellent Golf course about 10 minutes drive away. Périgueux, Angoulême, and Cognac are all within reasonable distance of Palisse.

The Bordeaux and Bergarac wine regions are also easily accessible - St Emillion is definitely a recommended trip! There are also historical sites nearby, in Aubettere an underground ancient church and near Angoulême, some examples of cave drawings. Near Poitiers there is the theme park Futuroscope which offers a good family day out.

BY CAR/FERRY: The best ports to sail to are Caen and St Malo both of which you can take from Portsmouth. The drive is approx 6-7hours from Caen and 5-6 hours from St Malo, taking in some Péage (toll) motorway.
