Villa Hymera is situated within easy reach of the Sicilian beach resort of Mondello. A five minute drive away the beach area is a favourite of the local Sicilians and Italians that come down in the summer for their August break. The property is situated in a quiet street with electronic security gates at the end of a gated road of several pretty villas. This is a holiday for those wishing to have a little bit of beach and also to enjoy the delights of the northwest territory.
There is so much to see in this region that 1 week is not enough.

The Sicily region
The north west coast is steeped in history from the saracen invasions to the architecture of the norman period to the very ellaborate detail of the clever arab who occupied sicily peacefully for hundreds of years.
The north west has so much to see its difficult to know where to start, the best time to come and see this area is between march and November when the weather ranges from 18/42 degrees. sicily is the gem of the med and has yet to be totally discovered as there are vast areas untouched and undiscovered by tourism.
Palermo / Mondello area
Mondello being a distant suberb of Palermo is really very fashionable and in the summer months sees the influx of travellers bathing in its crystal clear azzure waters and sunning them selves on the white sand beach.
Mondello has been fashionable since the 1940s and its here you will find a fantastic art noveau period pier that dominates the coast region in the town.
Very colourful and fully working, it used to be the place for dancing and eating and today holds a fantastic restaurant where you can eat the freshest of fish whilst enjoying the wonderful views out to sea. Mondello and surrounding towns have weekly markets that are great for picking up italian bargains and local food supplies. The area is well known for its amazing fish restaurants so eating here is a treat for the senses.

Further details indoors: The villa is of typical style of the area, having lots of pretty tiling and a cool feeling inside the lounge and kitchen are a great communal area. the bedrooms are good sized and there is the possiblity of extra bed with the sofa.
There are 2 terraces shaded from the sun and a roof/sun terrace and also lots of cushions for chairs outside. There is a good bathroom with shower and also the decor is very simple and clean.
This is a great house for holidays as it feels like a real slice of italian life.
Further details outdoors: The kitchen is well laid out, but in the summer rarely used as the villa also has a lovely outdoor garden kitchen. There is also a utility room suituated outside with a washing machine, fridge/freezer and water heater which serves an outdoor shower for the use of guests.
The garden is lovely with a small area laid to lawn, pretty flower beds, Teracotta tiles, pots and an outside heated shower. A spiral staircase leads up to the lovely roof/sun terrace which has stunning views of the local scenery with the mountains of Palermo in the back ground. This is a real slice of Italian life in very fashionable Mondello.
