Apartment | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 3
The apartment is on the first floor (high level) of a two floors building entirely renovated during the year 2008. The house is known in the area as 'Casa del Sole' (house of sun) because it is illuminated for almost the entire day and it looks like it shines with its own light. The apartment overlooks Piazza Carmine and from its sunny balcony you can admire the wonderful church of the Madonna del Carmelo (do not miss the 26th july procession!). The house is in the hearth of the Ballar' traditional market. So, in spite of the house thick walls and double glazing, and while the bedroom remains silent, just open the main window to enjoy sounds and voices of one of the most lively marketplaces of Palermo: a unique blend of lights, colors and people will astonish and excite you, like a Guttuso painting, every single day of your staying. The house is cool and well-ventilated, and it has air conditioning in every room. Its central position makes the apartment an ideal starting point to explore culture, history and arts of Palermo. 5 minutes walking and you get to the Quattro Canti, Piazza Pretoria, Casa Professa Church, Via Maqueda, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Palazzo Riso Contemporary art Museum... From Piazza Carmine you can also walk up very easily to the central station and the airport bus stop. Description Apartament 2 - 4 People. 1 bedroom, kitchen, living, 1 bathroom (shower), Balcony. The Sicily region
Sicily, right in the heart of the Mediterranean sea, has a cultural heritage unsurpassed by any other holiday destination. It's array of historical rulers have provided the island with unique architecture, art and traditions. The coastline is dramatic and beautiful (like the people) and the towns are a bustling hubbub of activities.
In the centre of the island sits the majestic Mt Etna, a still active volcano. A trip to the top is a must.
Being in Italy, and having such a rich history, Sicily has a wonderful selection of food & drink. The various cultures and natural local produce combine to make dishes that can be found nowhere else in the world.
Streets and alleys of Palermo:
can't get enough of walking in Palermo. Staring at the varied architecture, listening to the clips of conversations (just the tone of them), smiling back to curious and friendly faces' and suddenly ' a flash of green wings and a scream of a parrot!
just dive into a real dealing and get ready for making a fool of yourself ' and don't get it so seriously if you put your fingers to the wrong places and get some strict looks from the market salesmen.
in Piazzetta Porta Reale (Via Lincoln): very friendly staff and 10+ Sicilian style 'snacks' like arancinos and pepitos etc.
