The Java/Jakarta region

The Indonesian area of Sleman is home to numerous temples and other historic sites. There are many ancient ruins, including those at Ratu Boko, trace back to the Sailendra Dynasty. Prambanan is the most popular destination and attracts thousands of tourists each year.

But there is also more than ruins and temples, and the Sleman regency even hosts a motorcycle rally event called "Tour de Merapi"!

Pakem

Tje area is tropical monsoon in climate and has a wet season generally running from October till June. There is also a short dry season from July through September. November through April is the period of heaviest rain, so plan accordingly. And don't be fooled. The setting in the region with a warm rain is positively enrapturing for those who like a tropical climate.
