About the home

This very well furnished and equipped accommodation is ideal for families seeking a quiet, peaceful environment in which to relax and unwind. It has an attractive, mature garden for al fresco dining and a balcony, accessed via french windows off the master bedroom, with lovely views over Torbay and the sea.

There is plenty to see and do locally, with a lively town centre for shopping and evenings out in the bars and restaurants. Paignton Zoo, Paignton to Dartmouth Steam Railway and Agatha Christie's holiday home are a short drive away. For the more energetic, the coastal path offers spectacular scenery all the way from Paignton to Kingswear and beyond. Torbay caters for everyone.

Upstairs: Three good sized bedrooms with balcony off front double. Bathroom/ shower with separate toilet.
Outside: A driveway. At rear. Patio area, dining table and chairs, two sunloungers, barbecue.

Further details outdoors:
The rear garden has a raised area beyond the patio, and very young children/toddlers would need to be supervised when on the lawn.

The West Country / Devon region

The south coast of Devon enjoys a mild climate with higher than average temperatures and plenty of sunshine during the summer months. It has some spectacular natural scenery, from the beautiful sandy beaches along the coastline to the wild and unspoilt Dartmoor National Park, just a thirty minute drive away.

There are many and varied walks to cater for all ages and abilities with waterfalls, rocky streams and rolling hills to enjoy.

For a day out Torbay is approximately twenty five miles from both Exeter and Plymouth, both lively, sophisticated cities with many historical attractions, shopping malls, cathedrals and parks to enjoy.

The Paignton area

Torbay, on the English Riviera, has a superb coastline with secluded sandy beaches and coves. The nearest beach to this property, Goodrington, has many amenities for the family, with two sandy bays and rock pools to explore. Nearby is Young's Park and a family pub/restaurant, overlooking the sea. There are beautiful seafront gardens (floodlit in the evening) and a cliff walk leading over to the harbour. Various boat trips to Brixham, Torquay or fishing off the wrecks, can be booked from here.

A ten minute drive away is the private holiday home of the world famous author, Agatha Christie and her family.
The delightful gardens sweeping down to the River Dart, overlooking Dartmouth, have been open for many years, but the house has just opened this spring after major restoration work.

Nearby is the impressive Paignton Zoo Environmental Park, set on a 75 acre site, and home to many endangered and exotic animal species, housed in several habitat zones including savannah, tropical forest and wetland. A super day out with restaurants, children's' play areas and shops to explore as well.

Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway can be reached easily on foot. The round trip f rom Paignton along the coastline to Kingswear, over the ferry to Dartmouth, up the River Dart by boat to Totnes and a bus back to Paignton is a fantastic day out for the family and the car can be left at home!

There are three theatres locally: the newly refurbished Palace Theatre in Paignton and the Little Theatre and Princess Theatre in Torquay, all with regular shows and plays throughout the year.
