Pagham beach house
from £93 /night help
House | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 6
This gem of a house is right on Pagham beach overlooking the sea. Open the door and step on the pebbles, focus your eyes on infinity, it's pretty amazing. One of the few remaining railway carriage houses, it is composed of 2 carriages places horizontally to the coast; each bedrooms has sea views and has been featured in Elle decoration and a number of photoshoots for its light filled clean if spartan interior. Children adore this cozy house and their imagination runs wild playing freely and safely inside and outside. Perfect for Chichester theatre, Goodwood revival, Festival of speed, Goodwood week and so much more. Beach well known to wind surfers and kite surfers also fishing and sailing. There is no smoking at all allowed in the house. Updates as of September 2014. Due to popular demand, there is now a tv with a DVD player available as well as a microwave in the kitchen and some shelves in the bathroom. Also please be aware the home is made from train carriages so rooms are very small! a wideangle lens has been used to show the space but do not be fooled the house is no loft space.

"Everything was just what we had hoped for, the railway carriages were quirky and lived up to our expectation"
We had a wonderful few days away in the Beach House. Everything was just what we had hoped for, the railway carriages were quirky and lived up to our expectation, it was immaculately clean and the bed linens and towels were from a prestigious high street store and were of a very good quality.
We really enjoyed being right on the beach and sat out each evening and morning enjoying the view. The Lamb pub in the village did a very good Sunday lunch and the store at the bottom of the road provided any supplies we needed.
Lovely weekend and I would thoroughly recommend this venue to anyone wanting to have a relaxing holiday.

"Big disappointment - not set up as a holiday let"
Where do I start!Kitchen: no instructions for appliances, no microwave, dishwasher full of dirty pots, pans and frying pans greasy on outside, scratched on inside - unusable. Bin had someone elses rub… More
to whom it may concern: I am truly sorry you had such a disappointing time at our house. it sounds as if the turnover had not happened as planned and perhaps the house was not as clean as it normally is for some reason. You are the very first to have such a complaint. the rooms are very small indeed as is normal with a home fashioned from train carriages with an obvious width limitation. Your complaints about the kitchen leave me a little perplexed; there is a gas hob, an oven with 2 knobs and a dishwasher with only one knob and I can't see why you'd need instructions for that. The shower hose was replaced the day you pointed out it was malfunctioning but I suppose you must have been quite frustrated by then and chose to leave. Again I am sorry about your negative experience but don't think the place is sold for anything but what it is; a bright and happy beach house. I can only think that your being so very edgy throughout the booking and damage deposit refund process perhaps should have given me an idea about the kind of person I was inviting in my home.

"The perfect place for family time"
The house was very clean and presented well when we arrived. It was honestly like going back in time with no television and just time to play on the beach and talk! The house had everything that you needed and the ice cream parlour down the road and café were very friendly and hospitable. Everywhere is dog friendly and the people were really friendly too. We had fish and chips on the beach just outside of the house and the children were not bored once (they are both 8). The house is actually very spacious and is done out very well. The beach is lovely although pebbles it did not matter. Really cannot rate the house enough. I never do reviews but felt this house deserved one and also the owner who I have to say has been a pleasure to deal with. We nearly had to cancel because of my fathers health and Tom went above and beyond. If you want family time and a place to totally unwind, somewhere that is clean and a pleasure to stay in then book this house.
