What ever time of year you choose to visit North Cornwall you can be guaranteed of plenty to do. You can enjoy rugged cliff top or quiet countryside walks, cycling, surfing or relaxing on many glorious sandy beaches. Cornwall really is a place of outstanding natural beauty.
Enjoy the cultural centres of Penzance, St Ives, Mousehole and Lands End which all have their own charm. Visit the Minack theatre where you can enjoy an outside performance with an enchanting back drop. Don't forget to bring your picnic hamper and wine! A must for Restaurant lovers is Jamie Oliver's "fifteen" at Watergate Bay. It's a good idea to book on line before you come down to avoid disappointment if you want to eat here!
Newquay boasts the only zoo in Cornwall, where they fully support overseas conservation. The Blue Reef Aquarium allows you to have a close encounter with a shark or stingray! Newquay boasts an excellent tennis centre situated in beautiful Trenance Gardens, and a swimming and fun pool.
Padstow / Retallack area
The beautiful River Camel estuary and the Camel Trail cycleway connects the delightful and picturesque towns of Wadebridge and Padstow. From your holiday home base the fishing town of Padstow which has now become famous through Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant, his cafes and shops, is a gastronomic haven. Wadebridge town has enjoyed a resurgence in its fortune through the prosperity of Padstow and both are well worth a visit whilst on holiday in Cornwall 2008.
Away from your self catering accommodation you can enjoy river and sea cruises to spot the local coastal wildlife, fishing or just take the family to the many beaches around Padstow, or take a ferry from Padstow harbour to Rock made popular with the London Café Society. The late poet Laureate John Betjeman wrote poems about his beloved North Cornwall and is buried in St Enodoc churchyard which you can visit on one of the many lovely walks around the coastline.
Wadebridge used to be a market town but now bustles with lovely modern shops and restaurants and nearby it hosts the Royal Cornwall Show every June time. The expansion of Newquay Airport has seen Wadebridge and Padstow gain popularity and with Newquay only 20 minutes away by car it is now the surfing capital of the UK. Also by car you can visit the Eden Project near St Austell and the spectacular scenery of Bodmin Moor and Jamaica Inn is certainly worth a visit.
How to get there
Arriving by car: Retallack is 96 kilometres from Exeter, travelling along the A30 after leaving the M5. Directions will be supplied one a booking has been made.
Arriving by train: Newquay train station is 10 miles from Retallack. There is a taxi rank just outside the station. Please direct rail enquiries to www.nationalrail.co.uk

The adventure playground and planned activities during the school holidays makes Retallack Resort and Spa ideal for couples and families.

All bookings are subject to a booking fee of £20.
A 30% deposit is required in order to confirm the booking and the balance is payable 8 weeks before the commencement of the holiday.
A security bond of £200 is required upon payment of the balance, which is refunded following your departure, in line with our terms and conditions.
