About the home

This luxury coastal house is only 100yds from the beach and 1.5 miles from Padstow. Trevone is a delightful village with two beaches, a general store, beach car parks, a pub and a surf store. The main sandy beach is a beautiful cove which is life guarded (and dog prohibited) during the summer months. Around the bay is Rocky Beach, perfect for rock pooling, shell collecting and also featuring a natural swimming pool. Surfing and body boarding are very popular in Trevone and nearby Harlyn Bay.

The house comfortably sleeps 10 in five bedrooms. There are two king-sized rooms (one of which can be split into two singles), one double, one single and one children's room with bunks and a single bed. There are four bathrooms, two of which are en-suite. Outside is a sheltered, west-facing garden complete with BBQ, table and chairs.

The house is finished to a high standard and has elegant decoration throughout. The house can be accessed via the side door (extra wide, so great for prams) which leads into a corridor with space for coats and wellies etc There is also a small cloakroom here. In the living room, there are Bose iPod speakers.

There is also a small snug attached to the living room with desk and chairs ideal for children. Seating in the living room to accommodate 8-10 people.

The house is family friendly and has a selection of children's DVDs, books and games. There is also baby monitor, steriliser, stair gates, children's crockery & cutlery available for use. A welcome pack is provided on arrival.

Crisp bedlinen, fluffy towels, hair-dryers, telephone, washing machine & tumble dryer - everything you would expect in your own home.

Further details outdoors:
The south-west facing garden is completely enclosed and secluded, with a mix of paved and grassed areas. It is equipped with a BBQ, large table, chairs and parasol for outside dining. The house is equipped with crockery, glasses and tumblers for outside use.

Leading from just off the kitchen is a fabulous balcony that overlooks the Atlantic - the crashing waves and the sunset every night - perfect with a glass of wine.

There is a large, gated parking bay in front of the house that can accommodate two to three cars.

In the garden is a shed which houses numerous wellies, wetsuits, surf boards, buckets, spades, outside games etc. From the garden there is also access to the boiler room which has the washing machine and tumble dryer, and a separate room with shower, toilet and basin, suitable for hosing down after the beach and hanging up those wetsuits.

There are many local surf schools that teach all age groups. A further 20 minutes south towards Newquay, Watergate Bay provides the Extreme Academy where kite surfing as well as competitive surfing are all the rage.

The West Country / Cornwall region

The fishing port of Padstow is less than two miles away and a similar distance away is the Trevose Golf and Country Club. The North Cornwall coast is a Designated Area of Outstanding Beauty and the coastal path is at the end of the lane. The coastal path links all the bays with superb coastal scenery, dramatic cliffs, quiet coves and stretches of sandy beach. The beach has very high standards of cleanliness.

The Camel Trail is close by - a great cycle ride for all ages and abilities and a wonderful day out. The Padstow to Wadebridge section, with a stop for lunch is just right if you have children with you. Bicycles can be hired from Bridge Bike Hire.

For a wet day or any day when you do not necessarily want to be on the beach Creally Adventure Park is a 15 minute drive away and perfect for children of all ages. Further afield but most certainly worth a trip is the famous Eden Project.

The Padstow / Trevone area

There are a plethora of restaurants, pubs and cafes within a short distance of Trevone, ranging from the Michelin starred restaurants - Rick Steins in Padstow, Ripleys in St Merryn (1.5 miles away) and St Ervan Manor (10 minute drive), to the local pubs and wonderful National Trust tea rooms at Bedruthan Steps.

Newquay airport is a fairly short taxi journey away with many budget airlines flying regularly such as Bmibaby, Flybe and British Airways.

“Fantastic house, well located and lots of home comforts.” This house is in the best spot - sea views, 2 mins from the rocky beach, 3 mins from the sandy beach and the surf shop. It's wonderfully staying somewhere in Cornwall and not having to get in your car everyday - there's no need to leave Trevone at all! The house is beatifully furnished - none of that rubbish furniture and bedlinen you often get - it felt like a real home from home (if not even a bit nicer than my own home!). Would definitely stay here again.
