Cottage | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 8
Rose Cottage is a delightful Cornish cottage, one of a small group of original cottages in the centre of Trevone, about five minutes walk to the attractive sandy beach. The main Victorian cottage dates from 1870, while the single storey lounge is much earlier. Rose is a charming cottage with original beams and layout, built facing south, with enclosed sunny front gardens. The cottage now has a modern bathroom and all up to date kitchen equipment. It has been owned by our family since 1920, and has been let to holiday visitors for over thirty years with many regular bookings over that time.
We accommodate a maximum of 8 guests but offer a DISCOUNT for 6 guests or less, when we close off one bedroom - the Madrips Room (see below).
Within the cottage -
A very large, attractive sitting room (approx 25ft x 13ft) with door leading to enclosed garden, open fireplace, TV and pull out bed
Dining room with open fireplace, dining table seating 6/8, two armchairs, TV with DVD player, and door leading to kitchen
Fully equipped kitchen, with electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, iron, washing machine and dishwasher
Double bedroom with twin beds and washbasin.
Bathroom, basin, bath with shower and WC. Separate WC
Two bedrooms (one leading into the other); the outer bedroom has a single bed and the inner bedroom has twin beds
The Madrips Room (the dormer window) is a charming room with sea views, twin beds, washbasin, night storage heater and its own staircase. It is available for all lets at the rental shown later, but we OFFER A DISCOUNT if the number of visitors is six or less and we close off this room.. For pricing details please contact owner.
Linen is not provided, but all beds have duvets and pillows. There are blankets available for every bed. Linen can be hired locally.
Electric night storage heaters are located in the hallway, sitting room, dining room, downstairs bedroom and upstairs outer bedroom – all night storage heating is included in the rent. There are additional mobile convector heaters. The electricity meter takes £1 coins.
There is reserved parking for one car in the grounds of nearby Well Parc Hotel and Pub, and this is included in the rent. Our visitors can also arrange additional parking - advice given at time of booking.

The West Country region
Trevone has a golden sandy cove, and beyond it a wide, rocky beach with shells, rock pools and a natural swimming pool. This part of the North Cornish coast, where the Atlantic waves pound the shore, is very popular for surfing and the sandy beach is patrolled by lifeguards during the popular part of the year. The Beach Cafe is popular for refreshments and also has a good surf shop. The Well Parc Hotel and Pub caters for most tastes and during the summer runs many charity events. There are lovely scenic walks on the coastal path, westwards towards Harlyn, Trevose Head and beyond, or north-east to Tregudder Gorge, Stepper Point, the Camel estuary and Padstow. The harbour at Padstow is flanked by charming old buildings and bustling narrow streets. The town is a busy tourist centre, and has a variety of restaurants and eating places, including Rick Stein's famous Seafood Restaurant.
For visitors with more energetic inclinations a pedestrian and cycle ferry runs from Padstow to Rock where sailing, windsurfing and water skiing are available. The Camel Trail, for cyclists and walkers, starts in Padstow and follows the old railway track beside the river to Wadebridge and beyond, there are good golf clubs at Constantine and St Enodoc (near Rock) and horse riding at Padstow.
On the First day of May annually Padstow celebrates the advent of summer with street celebration, parades around the town of the Old 'Oss and the Blue 'Oss each with its own followers, accompanied by music from drums and accordions.
