This property is centrally located in Old Town Padstow. Originally, this was the Old Police House and has the tallest door in Padstow to accommodate the police hats worn in those days!
The building comprises of two apartments and each apartment has the fantastic advantage of adjoining parking for one reasonably - sized vehicle. Vans and large MPV's would probably not fit, but we can offer a discount towards parking costs if this is the case. Pets (max two dogs) are welcome.

Although not 5 star Padstow accommodation, this 2 bedroomed - Apartment 1 is comfortable, has character and is very well located. A lot of improvements have be made recently, including double glazing, a hung slate wall, new carpets throughout and a lot of interior furniture has been replaced. Free wifi throughout, too, now.The owner would currently rate the apartment as 3 star.
Initial access is through a large communal hallway. From the hallway each apartment has its own private access.
Apartment One is located up a short flight of stairs. There are two good sized bedrooms, one with a Double Bed and one Twin Room.
The Lounge/Diner has two twin sofas, a Flat Screen TV and DVD Player. Small Dining table, but comfortably seats four adults.
The Galley Kitchen has a two ringed induction hob, an electric oven with grill and a microwave oven. The standard sized fridge is located within the property but just outside of the kitchen. Although small and compact, this galley kitchen does have sufficient storage and is fully equipped. Please do note: There is no dishwasher, washing machine or freezer within the property, although there is a nearby laundrette.
The family bathroom contains the original enamel bath with a modern electric shower over the bath.
The hot water for the kitchen and bathroom comes from an electric heater.The switch for this is located in the kitchen. A heated towel rail is located in the bathroom.
There are Night Storage Heaters in both bedrooms and also in the lounge
Extra Electric Heaters are available in the property if required.
All bedding is supplied. Teatowel supplied, but please bring your own towels/flannels etc.
There is now a Wi Fi router in the hallway for both apartments to share.
Changeover day is normally Saturday. The owner may be able to be flexible on this.
Check in after 3.30pm at busy times. Can be flexible on this at low season. Check out 10.00 am, please.
Short breaks available at the owners discretion, but minimum stay is 3 nights, please.
Please note that, as an old building, the house does not have double glazing. It is in a quiet road, but central, so there will be some passing traffic and pedestrians.
A local cleaner can visit during a two week let for a charge of £25.

About this location
The Cornwall region
Padstow is in the centre of the North Cornwall Coast and is a good base for visiting Newquay, Wadebridge, the Eden Project and Truro. The coast here can be wild and surfing is very popular. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and the light changes seemingly every day - inspiring many artists to settle in this region. Visitors return each year to enjoy the scenery and heritage of Cornwall.
Padstow is a beautiful and historic harbour town, which still supports local fishing and has all the watersports you could need within easy access.
The restaurants and pubs in the area have something for everyone and the Camel Trail is fantastic for an easy days' cycling. The nearest beaches are within a 10 minute walk, and Rock can be visited via a regular ferry service.
Excellent golf courses are within easy reach by car, as are all the bays in the St Merryn area.

Thanks so much for your review and I am pleased you enjoyed your stay. I am so sorry to read that the parking was difficult. Sadly for us, three new properties were built when the doctor's surgery was demolished and they rearranged the car park to fit maximum spaces in. When the car park is completely full (which is fairly rare) and there are lots of very large cars in there, it can be tight - although our two are the easiest to get in and out of, thank goodness.
We do say in the description that we are happy to refund if a guest has a large vehicle and needs to park elsewhere, so I will be in touch directly and offer this. The pay and display has a pathway which comes out really near the house, so is a good alternative. I do plan to re- line our two spaces this winter and hope this will help!

We try to upgrade as and when we can, but always want to keep that sense of history. This year we have painted and re carpeted. Next year we hope to start on the windows and outside.
