About the home

Luxury detached 3 bedroomed villa with heating. Accommodation includes: ground floor - 1 twin bedroom and spacious shower room with basin and wc; lounge/diner including dvd player (an assortment of dvds for family viewing are complimentary), hairdryer, 88 channel freeview on 32" Sony flatscreen TV, cd stereo; newly fitted kitchen with dishwasher, full size cooker and microwave; first floor - 1 further twin and double bedroom with built-in wardrobes opening onto balcony; bathroom with basin and wc. The villa is situated in the grounds of a delightful 17th century Manor House with sweeping staircase. The Manor House is home to a family friendly café bar and new pizza and pasta restaurant – a perfect place to relax at any time of day. We have provided a Playstation 2 with games and a selection of board games and puzzles for those wet, summer days. Complimentary tennis and badminton racquets, golf balls and clubs for the onsite facilitiesare provided to save on hire charges.

Fantastic facilities ensure there's something to suit everyone – from swimming and children's clubs, to sports and entertainment. Or, for the ultimate in relaxation, spoil yourself with a sauna, solarium, steam or holistic massage treatment. There's even three fully stocked lakes for the angler to enjoy.

A proud holder of the David Bellamy Silver Award for Conservation, the park is superbly situated for exploring the numerous attractions of the area, such as the world famous Eden Project. Bodmin Moor is less than 1/2 a mile away as is the infamous Camel Trail.

Luxury detached three bedroom villa maintained to a very high standard in a beautiful Cornish setting. Double glazed and insulated villa with night storage heaters, which is perfect for all year round holidays. Ground floor: One twin bedroom, shower room with basin and wc. Open plan lounge and dining area with double french doors leading onto patio area with table and chairs. Newly fitted kitchen with dishwasher, full size cooker, bowl and a half sink. First floor: One double bedroom leading onto the balcony with lovely views over the countryside and one twin bedroom. Bathroom with fullsize bath, wc and basin. All bedding and electricity is included in the price you see. All appliances are to the highest standard including a 32" Sony LCD TV. In the villa we have included a Playstation 2 with games and karaoke, a selection of DVDs for family enjoyment, toys, games and books. We have also provided complimentary tennis racquets, badminton racquets and golf clubs to save on hire charges onsite. We are advised the fishing in the three lakes is excellent although you will need to obtain the appropriate licence from the Fishing Tackle shop onsite.

It is difficult to imagine a facility that is not availabe onsite and with the new "Go Active" Programme there is an opportunity for you and the children to participate in exciting new sports. The villa is set in 35 beautiful acres of landscaped gardens, parks, mature woodland and still-water lakes. Located within easy reach of the pretty fishing village of Port Isaac and Padstow, close to the surfing paradise of Polzeath and across the estuary from Rock. The villa is central to many of Cornwall's excellent features and boasts being only half a mile from the renowned Camel Trail. The ducks make a daily visit on their way to and from the pond!

Further details

Rentals are from Saturday to Saturday although this can be negotiated off peak. The villa may be suitable for those who have an elderly or disabled member in their party as one twin bedroom and shower room are on the ground floor. No specific disabled equipment has been installed. A Playstation 2 + games, DVD + selection of films, dishwasher, tennis racquets, golf clubs, toys and games have been placed in the villa for family enjoyment.

Conditions

We have added many personal touches to try to make the villa a home from home. The villa is spotlessly cleaned by Jenny who is very meticulous with her standards. All electrical appliances are upgraded from standard villas. A £50 discount is offered for any two week bookings.

Cornwall doesn't come much better than this. Rock pools, rocky coves, rolling surf - Cornwall has it all. Then there's the coastal path, pretty fishing villages, rolling green fields, fabulous beaches, silent river creeks, towering cliffs and unspoiled countryside. The list goes on...but the sea is never far away.

You can explore it all from Hengar Manor: The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, National Maritime Museum, fishing villages of Padstow and Port Isaac, National Maritime Museum, Flambards Theme Park and beautiful beaches.

GOLF - There are many golf courses in the area, where you can relax and enjoy a quiet game. Try the course at St. Enodoc, with its restored church, overlooking the beautiful River Camel Estuary - with stunning vistas of the river, Padstow, Pentire Head and the surrounding countryside.

THE CAMEL TRAIL - The Camel Trail, available free 365 days of the year, winds through some of Cornwall's most beautiful and little-known countryside. Cornwall County Council converted 11 miles of disused railway beside the River Camel from track bed to trail, linking the towns of Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow. An extension follows the river towards Camelford. The Camel Trail is only 1 mile away, so bring your bikes for an enjoyable day out. (Bikes can also be hired at many places along the trail or from the campsite).

The Padstow / St Tudy area

St Tudy is close to National Trust properties at Boscastle, Lanhydrock and Tintagel. The north coast from Rock to Tintagel offers stunning coastal walks. This area also benefits from many excellent restaurants, in the nearby towns of Wadebridge, Polzeath, Rock and Padstow.

Nestling on the beautiful Camel Estuary Padstow offers beautiful coastal views. The town with its colourful harbour surrounded by pastel-washed medieval houses is an attraction in itself. For the more active and adventurous Padstow offers a range of activities including walking and cycling, the world famous Camel Trail, South West Coastal Footpath, water sports including fishing, surfing and sailing and unrivalled Golf on the seaside links of St Enodoc, Trevose and the nearby Merlin Golf Club.

It’s not all action of course - watching the everyday ebb and flow of harbour life is a perfect way to spend a day in Padstow. If you find this too hectic spend the afternoon relaxing at peaceful Harbour Cove with its lovely sandy beach and fabulous views of the Camel Estuary, or take a ferry trip across to Rock and visit the hushed church of St Enodoc where Sir John Betjeman is buried. Padstow is surrounded by glorious clean sandy beaches – no less than 7 bays are within a five minute drive as are the villages of St Merryn, St Issey, Little Petherick and St Ervan.

27.03.10 - 03.04.10 Accommodation exceeded expectations. Exceptionally clean and well equipped. The little personal touches made all the difference. Children had a great time with plenty in the villa to occupy them. Particularly enjoyed the cycle ride along the Camel Trail.

03.04.10 - 10.10.10 We have just returned from a great week at Hengar Manor. We booked privately through Holiday lettings.co.uk and stayed in Park Villa 130. After reading some reviews we nearly cancelled, but am so relieved we didn't! The house was immaculate &comfortable, with the benefit of a dishwasher, PS2 , Flat screen TV, DVD, tennis rackets and golf clubs(so handy as we didn't have to rent any). The house was very warm. I would recommend booking privately.
Our children had freedom and fun - the pool was spotless, we swam daily. The fishing was great fun, my 13yr old became hooked! We had our own Easter Egg hunt in the Walled Garden, the setting is beautiful and relaxing. Everything from the evening entertainment,and the golf to the spa treatments contributed to a fabulous holiday.
A couple of days we prised the children away from Hengar to cycle the Camel Trail. The adults enjoyed this, but the children wanted to go back to Hengar!
We would definitely return.
