The Cornwall region
North Cornwall is one of the most beautiful parts of the country. There is plenty of dramatic coastline to explore as well as numerous sandy beaches along the blue Atlantic ocean.
St Merryn is a few minutes drive and provides several restaurants, a Spar grocey shop (open late hours), post office, fish bar and garage.
The famous harbour town, Padstow, is a few miles away and well worth a visit. It boasts several shops, places to eat, lovely ice cream, fishing, sea trips, speed boats, lovely walks, crazy golf and much more. Padstow also has a useful Tourist Information centre and you can take the water ferry across to the golden sands of Rock. There is also a Tesco just outside Padstow.
Bedruthan Steps (National Trust)
This is one of the most popular destinations on the Cornish coast. Spectacular clifftop views stretch across Bedruthan beach (not Trust-owned). The Trust has rebuilt the cliff staircase to the beach, but visitors need to be aware of the risk of being cut off by the tide. There is a car park run by the National Trust which has a small fee. There is also a gift shop and cafe on the site.
The Camel Trail is 18 miles and links Padstow to Bodmin and then Wenfordbridge on the disused railway line. Suitable for walkers, cyclists and horses this takes you away from the road and along the Camel Estuary in a tranquil setting. You can break your journey in Wadebridge which is approximately 5 miles from Padstow. Bicycles can be hired from Padstow including trailers for small children.

Cornish Birds of Prey Centre
At the Cornish Birds of Prey Centre there are more than 50 birds of prey, in addition to many other birds. These include parrots, macaws, pheasants, kookaburras and lots of ducks. There are regular flying displays and various hands-on experiences, involving the birds. The Centre also incorporates facilities for coarse fishing, with more than three acres of well-stocked lakes. The Centre is set on open ground with a gentle slope and stunning views.
Facilities include tea rooms, serving both hot meals and snacks throughout the day, with a gift area selling souvenirs of the visit. There is free parking and shaded shelters for dogs, which are not allowed in the actual centre. The Cornish Birds of Prey Centre is situated on the A39 at Winnards Perch, between St. Columb Major and Wadebridge and is open throughout the year.
Enter the magical land of Cornwall’s Crealy and hold on tight for Morgawr, the exciting NEW roller coaster. Plus fly through the air, splash on water rides, discover awesome indoor play, meet the friendliest animals, and embark on adventures with giants, knights and monsters. It’s Magical Family Fun Guaranteed at Cornwall’s largest theme park.
The Eden Project (Slightly further afield)
There's always something new to see even if you've been many times before. Most people have heard about the giant green houses, the thousands of plants, the world famous architecture and art, but there's even more to Eden than all of that. It is recommended you set aside a good four to five hours for your visit and even if you have been before things are always changing and so merits another visit.
Hollywell Bay Fun Park (Slightly Further afield)
Over 130 different species set in lush sub-tropical lakeside gardens. From the amazing open rainforest exhibit to the beautiful oriental garden there is something for all ages and abilities. Enjoy the African Savanna and the all new Madagascan Walkthrough exhibit. Plenty to keep your children occupied with the tarzan trail, children's play area, animal encounters, face painting and much more.
Old MacDonald's Farm
Old MacDonald's Farm is a small family run farm park and campsite nestling amongst the rolling hills of the Cornish countryside, yet just half a mile from the North Cornish coast between Padstow and Newquay.
Young children especially will enjoy the freedom of a visit to Old MacDonald's Farm. All rides are included in the entry price so there are no hidden extras to pay for. Pony rides, tractors, roller racers, trampolines, climbing frames, crazy golf, even a ride on the miniature train.
A beautiful house and gardens for you to explore

"Excellent choice for a holiday"
We stayed in the chalet from 6th - 13th July 2013. The accommodation was excellent, very clean and well provided. Everything you need for a holiday was there. We have stayed in several other chalets on the same site and found this to be the best. Would recommend this chalet.
Thank you. We are so glad you liked the chalet.
