About the home
Atmosphere
TREWALDER has always enjoyed prime location yards from the beach at Treyarnon Bay, one of the best family beaches in North Cornwall. A complete re-design and refurbishment in 2011 has now produced one of the most special properties available in the area.
The house has been designed to make the most of its location – two huge balconies perfect for relaxation and entertainment, and two wide 4-door French windows opening up the sitting and dining rooms to the beach outside. Four bathrooms (three ensuite), oak floors and high quality fittings throughout, guarantee you a memorable and very special holiday.
Sleeping
Trewalder has four bedrooms, three ensuite. Two master bedrooms can be found upstairs, each with luxurious King size beds and access to a balcony and roof terrace respectively. Each has an ensuite shower-room, equipped with powerful waterfall showers.
At the top of the stairs, round left, and then straight ahead, the master bedroom can be found. It has a long entrance way, with its ensuite immediately to the right – making it useful for others in the house if needed. The balcony here is covered – a more discrete space from which to survey the view across Treyarnon and away towards Constantine Bay.
The 2nd double room is further round to the left, and has an ensuite with a stylish basin with dark surround. The roof terrace here is the largest – a huge L shaped terrace, perfect for entertaining and alfresco eating.
Also upstairs, is the 2nd twin room, with twin 3ft beds and access to the 2nd balcony. The family bathroom is across the landing. Downstairs, the main twin room can be found, off the kitchen. Comfortable 2ft 6in single beds are provided, and a good-sized ensuite shower-room.
Bathrooms
Trewalder enjoys three ensuite shower-rooms, a family bathroom and a separate cloakroom downstairs. Each ensuite has large shower cubicles with a powerful shower, loo, basin and large heated and elegant towel rails. Each is furnished sympathetically and is comfortable and usable.
The family bathroom can be found off the landing to the left. It is furnished with an L-shaped bath. Downstairs a cloakroom is located off the kitchen.
Living and Dining
There is plenty of space and plenty of options for spending your time at Trewalder when you are not on the beach or in the sea! The main living room has comfortable sofas and the main TV is here. The front of the living room opens out to the grass in front of the house, via glass doors that open completely from one side of the room to the other. Just inside these doors are chairs and coffee tables – perfect for relaxing while watching the view or reading the papers. The new wood burner makes the whole house cosy all year round.
Or you can relax in the dining room, off the kitchen to the front of the property. Again it is fronted by massive glass doors and, as well as dining for 8+, it is furnished with comfortable chairs – making another separate living area. There is also a second flat screen TV, also with access to Sky, as well as a Roberts radio/IPOD dock.
Both balconies have tables and chairs as well – with the largest balcony perfect for alfresco dining on warm summer days.
Kitchen
The kitchen is the heart of the house – between the living room and the dining room at the front. It is large, generous room with dark resin work surface along two walls and plenty of storage. A stainless steel sink and drainer is perfectly positioned to make one of the best ‘washing up’ views imaginable!
A Cuisine Master electric range cooker is provided, along with a stainless steel hood and built-in microwave. There is a good-sized fridge-freezer.
At the back of the kitchen, an external door leads outside for clothes drying and the storage of surfboards/wetsuits. The carpeted stairs lead up from the kitchen to the landing and bedrooms.
Facilities
The utility room can be found off and to the back of the kitchen - here you will find the washing machine and dryer.
For entertainment, and for crucial sports fixtures, there is a flat screen TV with Sky+ HD with a Sky Sports package. A second TV can be found in the dining room, also with full Sky access. Hear there is also a Roberts music system with IPOD dock.
Outside
The main areas at the front of the house are laid to lawn, while round the back of the house, useful paved areas provide storage and drying.
But the roof terrace particularly will dominate your outside time at the property, with chairs and small tables provided on both the balcony and roof terrace. While the huge glass opening doors out of the sitting room and dining room, both leading to grassy lawn, ensure the boundary between inside and outside is blurred.
With the beach and headland just a few yards away, the beach almost becomes your garden. Treyarnon on warm early evenings is renowned for beach barbecues!
Nearby
Treyarnon’s amazing beach is right on your doorstep. You can enjoy its large sweep of sand, wonderful rocks for climbing and pooling, or unbeatable headland walking both north and south. There is also Treyarnon’s natural swimming pool carved into the rocks – it can be found on the right (north) side of the bay below the headland. Surfing is also good at Treyarnon – receiving plenty of waves, but a little more manageable than some of the most exposed beaches. Mid to high tide is best. Lifeguards are in place at Treyarnon, May through September.
For a change, you can walk to Constantine Bay in less than 10 minutes across the flat and easy headland. Its fine even for children in pushchairs – and even if carrying your beach gear and picnic!
For local shopping, Gary’s shop in the beach car park can be very useful. For all manner of provisions and essentials, as well as your daily milk, bread and newspaper, it’s perfect. For a larger choice, you can walk up through the campsite to Constantine Bay Stores in less than 10 minutes. Here you will find a range of quality food that may allow you to really avoid driving all week. Next door is Des’ surf shop for all manner of surf gear, to buy or rent.
Locally, the Youth Hostel past the beach on the right is open to non residents at different times of the day – for drinks, coffee and snacks.

The West Country / Cornwall region
Cornwall provides the most dramatic and beautiful coastline in the UK. It is a popular holiday area - with wonderful beaches and a fantastic coastline and moors for walking.
The Eden Project is the most popular tourist attraction - but the art galleries of St Ives and Padstow and Lands End itself provide interest and entertainment. However, for most, the rugged landscape and rich history make a trip to Cornwall very special indeed.
The Padstow / Treyarnon Bay area
The North Cornwall area is renowned for beautiful beaches, great walks, surfing, championship golf courses and wonderful array of restaurants and boutiques in Padstow and along the coast. Rick Stein and Jamie Oliver have restaurants within 10 minutes drive of Trewalder at Treyarnon Bay. The beaches of Constantine Bay, Harlyn, Trevone and Porthcothan are all within minutes of Treyarnon.
Fresh food abounds - and there are plenty of fun activities all within 30 minutes drive. The Padstow/Trevone area is known these days as the top area in Cornwall for discerning travellers.
