About the home

If it is space you want then Roscullion Barn will not disappoint - all the rooms are large. New for 2013 - we have completely refitted the kitchen and put new windows in. Ideal for a couple, two couples or a family of up to 5, and set within extensive grounds and overlooking fields, the barn provides our guests with all the contemporary comforts of home, and the opportunity to get away from it all, but also to be within five minutes drive of the charming old harbour and town of Padstow, and the numerous sandy beaches and coastal paths nearby. Furnished and equipped to a high standard we like to think we have provided all the little extras you may need - Wifi, MP3 docking station, games, DVDs and books, table tennis table, comfy beds, power showers - for a relaxing holiday.

Ground floor: Very large farmhouse kitchen completely refitted with new units and appliances in February 2013 in a cream shaker style - electric cooker with double oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, CD/Radio/Cassette player, large farmhouse table seating 6, sofa (not visible in photo) and original slate floor. Spacious lounge with comfy sofas and armchair, large flatscreen TV (Freeview), DVD, MP3 Docking station, Wfi, and a good selection of CDs, DVDs, toys, books and games. Good sized south facing centrally heated conservatory with further 3 seater sofa and chairs, further dining table and chairs for 4. Separate utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and additional fridge.

lst Floor: Bedroom 1 is a very large room with exposed beams, quality king size bed to ensure a good nights sleep, flatscreen TV (freeview), power shower and pine furniture. Bedroom 2 again is a large room with twin beds and an additional full size single bed, exposed beams and pine furniture. There is plenty of space in both bedrooms for a travel cot. The bathroom/WC has been completely refurbished with white suite and includes large bath with power shower, WC, sink and heated towel rail. We can also provide a travel cot, highchair and stair gate at no extra cost.

Outside: South facing patio with picnic table overlooking large secure garden (plenty of space for ball games), and fields. Plenty of parking and storage for bikes, surfboards and wetsuits. BBQ and beach accessories are provided for the use of our guests. Full size table tennis table in external games room.

Further details outdoors:
The barn is detached and has its own large south facing patio and garden. Surrounded by farmland we are more than happy for you to walk in our field when there aren't any sheep in it. Roscullion Farm is now a small holding set in 5 acres and we live in the old farm house nearby.

Changeover day is a Saturday, although from 1st November to end of March there is more flexibility.

Roscullion Barn is a no smoking property and I am sorry we are not able to accommodate pets.

The barn is a family property and is not suitable for groups of single young people.

A 20% deposit is required to secure a booking with the balance payable 8 weeks prior to the start date of the holiday. Please contact the owner for a full set of Booking Conditions

Spacious Living Room

The West Country / Cornwall region

Roscullion Barn is an ideal base from which to explore the rest of Cornwall. The Eden Project is just half an hour away, and the many National Trust properties and gardens of Cornwall are all within an hour’s drive.

Apart from the seven beautiful sandy beaches all within ten minutes drive, there are wonderful cliff walks and public footpaths. For golfers Trevose Golf and Country Club is just two miles away. Horse riding, tennis, sailing and water skiing are all available nearby.

The Padstow area

Roscullion Barn is ideally located just three miles inland from the sea, and two miles from the picturesque harbour at Padstow. Padstow has a good selection of pubs and restaurants including Rick Stein’s world renowned Seafood Restaurant. Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Restaurant is just 15 minutes away at Watergate Bay, the home of the Extreme Sports Academy.

Our lovely sand beaches are in an area of outstanding natural beauty and if you are looking to entertain children building sandcastles and fishing in rock pools, there is nowhere better. With seven beaches within a 10 minute drive there is something for everyone whether it is extreme sports, surfing, sunbathing, fishing, walking or just watching the world go by.

Padstow is also the start of the Camel Trail, an offroad, level pathway for walkers and cyclists extending all the way to Bodmin Moor. Bikes, trikes and tugalongs can all be hired in Padstow or Wadebridge.

For walkers the coastal path is truly scenic and we provide an ordinance map and some suggestions for walks.

For golfers and tennis players Trevose Golf and Country Club is just two miles away. Horse riding, sailing and water skiing are all available nearby.

Roscullion Barn is 2 miles outside Padstow, and approximately 12 miles from the A30 at Bodmin, roughly a five hour drive from London and the NW of england.

Newquary Airport is a 20 minute drive away. Air South West, Flybe and Jet2 fly from a number of UK regional airports to Newquay Airport including Gatwick, Leeds/Bradford, Manchester, Glasgow, Isle of Man, Belfast and Bristol Also Cork and Dublin form the Ireland. In the summer Ryanair operate flights from Alicante and Lufthansa from Dusseldorf.

Car Hire is available from Newquay airport.

Trains from Paddington to Bodmin Parkway take between 4 and 5 hours and Bodmin Parkway is a 30 minute drive from Padstow.

“So spacious. So close to Padstow. So perfect!” We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Home baked cake greeted us on arrival. We enjoyed our stay so much we stayed on another day. The views are amazing. The bed was very comfortable and we very much enjoyed the TV in the bedroom - something we've put off doing at home. We came back refreshed and ready for Christmas. We fully intend on visiting again next year. Loved it!
