About the home

Sea Spell is a two storey property set in its own grounds in an area of outstanding natural beauty, 400m from Constantine Bay and adjacent to Trevose golf course. Apartment 1 is a two storey end of terrace apartmentwith glorious views of Trevose Head and the sea.

A public footpath leads from the garden to the centre of the sandy beach where walkers can join the coastal path. Golfers can turn right and follow the path up to the golf club.

Moira Warnock, who owns and runs Sea Spell, lives at the bottom of the garden and is on hand should any assistance or advice be required. She offers a warm welcome to an immaculately clean apartment where you will find everything necessary for a pleasant and relaxing stay.

There is a ground floor entrance into a lobby area with cloakroom. The spacious, dual aspect living room has a two seater and a three seater sofa, a flat screen television with freeview channels and remote control, DVD, occasional tables, flame effect electric fire in an attractive white fireplace and a dining table with six chairs. The fully fitted kitchen has a family sized fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, fan assisted electric oven with ceramic hob and grill, dishwasher and a breakfast table with four chairs. On the first floor the front (king-size divan) bedroom has en suite bathroom with power shower in the bath, w.c. and pedestal basin. There is a king-size divan bed, a fitted wardrobe, and a chest of drawers and two comfortable chairs in which to relax and enjoy the view over the golf course to the sea. The rear twin bedded room has an en suite bathroom with an electric shower in a 'tubby bath', w.c. and pedestal basin, fitted wardrobe and a chest of drawers. The ground floor has oil fired central heating and the bedrooms have wall mounted panel heaters.

Well behaved dogs are welcome at Sea Spell with the owner's prior permission.

The West Country / Cornwall region

Padstow (8 km) is a delightful harbour town with a number of excellent restaurants and some very welcoming pubs. There are banks and building societies, a chemist, bakers, a general stores and a variety of other shops. Tesco is just outside the town.

For walkers the South West Coast Path is only 400m from Sea Spell. To the west the path leads to Bedruthan Steps and beyond to Newquay, and to the east via Trevose Head, Harlyn and Trevone the path reaches Padstow.

Cornwall has a wealth of attractions and facilities easily accessible by road from Sea Spell. The north coast has rugged cliffs, peaceful coves and wide surfing beaches. Inland there are National Trust houses with their perfectly tended grounds and the delightful gardens at Heligan, Trewithen, Trebah and Caerhays Castle.The Eden Project is a "must see" appealing, as it does, to visitors of all ages. Padstow has a number of excellent restaurants and some lively pubs. Rick Stein has taken over one of our locals, The Cornish Arms in St Merryn, and is gaining a reputation for excellent "pub grub". If younger visitors tire of playing on the beach or there are entertainment parks, petting farms, sanctuaries for seals, owls, donkeys and birds of prey and,in Newquay, a zoo. For those with good sea legs there are boat and fishing trips leaving Padstow daily.

The Padstow area

Constantine Bay is only a 400m stroll either through the garden gate and down the footpath or along the beach road. St Merryn Parish boasts "Seven Bays for Seven Days" but it takes much longer than a week to discover all the glorious beaches in the vicinity, from tiny rocky coves to the glorious sandy stretches of the Camel estuary.

Dogs are allowed on Constantine, Harlyn and Treyarnon beaches, but not on Trevone, which is an ideal bay for families with small children. Life guards patrol the beaches from May to September.

Just up the road you will find Constantine Bay Stores which stocks groceries and newspapers. It is next to Constantine Bay Surf Shop which can provide all your beach and surfing gear.

St Merryn village (4 km) has two convenience stores, two pubs, three restaurants, a post office, newsagents, a petrol station and garage, a wine bar, a fish and chip shop/restaurant and a beautiful 750 year old church. There is also a delicatessen/bakery and a pasty/sandwich shop.
