The West Country / Cornwall region

Padstow lies on the River Camel on the North Cornwall coast and is a typical working fishing port where you can watch trawlers bringing in their 'catch of the day.'

All around the quayside you will find quaint shops selling unusual gifts and galleries where you can purchase a painting to remind you of your holiday in Padstow. You can also buy a Cornish pasty or indulge in a Cornish cream tea, then in the evening sample the menu at Rick Steins Seafood restaurant.

The Padstow / Trevone area

Trevone beach is situated just a few minutes walk down the lane from Morlanar. This beautiful sandy beach has lifeguard cover from May-September, with a beach café and surf shop. You can enjoy a coastal walk around the famous ’round hole’ on the cliff top or just enjoy looking at the dramatic cliff tops.

There is a local shop along the main road on the bend where you can buy a few essentials. There is also a post box near the store. The main supermarket can be found at the top of Padstow, which is a short drive away. Padstow has banks, a post office and lots of restaurants and cafes.

From Wadebridge follow signs towards Padstow passing through St Issey. After Little Petherick turn right following sign to Padstow, before Padstow turn left onto the Newquay coast road (B3276), turn right signed to Trevone, follow this road into Trevone and turn left opposite the top beach car park into Beach Road. Morlanar is at the end of the lane on the left.

“Excellent location” This property is in an excellent location for a family beach holiday. The house was clean and well equiped for our family needs. There is a small beach shop a short walk away, which supplies milk, pasties etc, and a Tesco store only 2.5 miles away for more groceries. The beach is a safe beach manned by lifeguards during the Summer, and has good surf and rock pools. The lady who manages the property was extremely helpful and made the booking a 'breeze'.
